12 o'clock, you know, before the [Gm] darkness has come down, heavy
So you're used to playing [C#] at this time of day?
Not at all, I mean, used to doing a lot of halls, I mean, this is the first festival we've done for quite a while.
We did a couple in Germany last year, and then, of course, there was Reading and stuff, but
It's strange to come out, you know, and go Europe again and do these 12 o'clock slots and 2 o'clock afternoon slots.
They say you got the name Fish because you like water so much.
Do you spend a lot of time in the bath, or is it swimming [G] pools?
The name, it was a [G] nickname that came in 1979 because I stayed in [G#] the bath too long.
I mean, now, I'm not allowed to stay in the [F] bath too long because the tour manager keeps on hassling me.
Oh, about one and a half, two hours.
What should you have been doing in that one and a half, two hours?
At the time, it was talking to a friend.
It was a friend that sat and waited on me coming out of the [E] bath, and he said,
you're some sort of fish or something.
Ha, adoption.
That's one of the sort of stories that goes around about you and about Meridian.
One of the other stories is that you're not very popular with the press.
[G] I think mainly because, you know, we're not really a [G#] fashion band.
We're not a chart band.
We're very [A] much an albums band.
And I [D#] think because you can see the style that Meridian play in [G] transcends a lot of different types of styles.
It upsets people because they can't categorize us.
Well, you look fairly fashionable to me.
You've got a lot of makeup on anyway.
I don't wear this on the street, though.
[G]
You mean some people do?
Oh, yeah.
No names.
No air.
This comes off after the show and it stays off.
