We're here at the Willow Park Baptist Church in Aleta, Texas.
We're going to interrupt the Isaacs.
You know, Gloria Gaither said God is in the interruptions and we're fixing to find out.
Come on.
Hello everybody!
Don't shoot!
I know we're in Texas!
Hey everybody, I told the Isaacs I would be interrupting them at some point, but I didn't
tell them when.
I said it's sort of like the Lord.
He's coming back, but we don't know when.
And I am excited to be here.
Gloria Gaither told me God was in the interruptions and I thought I'd find out.
But I want to introduce, this is for my new video I'm doing, and I want to introduce the
song Waiting in the Water.
I love this song.
It's from John chapter 9.
And the blind guy was sitting on the side of the road and he's sitting there minding
his own business and the Lord points him out and says, look at that blind guy, and
the disciples say, well who sinned?
Isn't that just like Christians?
Well who sinned, his parents or him?
And the Lord said, you're asking the wrong question.
This is so the glory of God can be revealed in him.
And then the Lord did something weird.
You know, he never healed anybody the same way twice.
One time he put his fingers in the guy's ear, spat on his tongue and healed his hearing.
I mean, Lord, I think that's because he didn't want us to get a recipe.
And this time he spat in the dirt, stuck it in the guy's eyes, which you know had to hurt,
and then told him to walk to a pool in Siloam, right Becky?
And it was not a close pool.
Now you don't tell a blind person to go, you lead them.
But not the Lord.
He said, now you go.
So just like our walk of faith, he's stumbling in the darkness, trying to find the pool of
Siloam, falling and stumbling because he knows that healing is waiting in the water.
So anyway, he finally gets there and he washes his eyes, he's bright eyed with sight, he
goes home, everybody's upset, especially the deacons.
They call him before the deacons, they called them Pharisees then, but they called him before the deacons.
And they said, who did this to you?
He said, it was Jesus.
Where is he now?
I don't know, I barely got a glimpse of him.
Because he was blind all the way to the water, right?
He didn't see Jesus.
He comes back, so they say, who did this to you on a Saturday?
He said, Jesus did it.
Then they call his parents, they can't believe he was the same blind guy that was staying
by the road.
And so they call his parents and they're so afraid they're going to get kicked out of church.
They say, we know he's our son, we know he's blind from birth, but we don't know how he
got his sight.
He's full grown, ask him.
And they ask him again and the guy said, look, you're the scholars, you're the theologians,
you're the ones who know that God doesn't allow someone to do these kinds of things
unless he's really from God.
And he said, all I know is I was blind and now I can see.
You know, a person with an experience is never at the mercy of a person with an argument.
So he gets his sight, everybody's upset in the synagogue.
And finally, he says to them, I love this.
He says, why do you keep asking me over and over?
Do you want to become his disciple too?
And with that, they kicked him out.
And Becky, I was reading this after you told me about this.
You'd written this song and you told me the whole story and I went back and investigated for myself.
And the very next verse, y'all, I love this.
This is why I love Jesus.
They kicked him out.
And the next verse says, when Jesus heard they had kicked him out, he came to him.
He found him and he said, do you believe on the Son of Man?
He said, show him to me that I might believe.
He said, you're looking at him.
And he said, don't you recognize my voice?
And he started worshiping the Lord Jesus.
He got saved.
Can you imagine getting led to Jesus by Jesus?
I love that sometimes you got to get kicked out before the Lord will show up.
And whatever you're going through in your life, if it may not be as bad as blindness
or worse than blindness, it could be.
So the glory of God can be revealed in you.
Don't discount your brokenness.
Broken pots spill more water.
Be glad that the Lord has allowed you to go through something where his glory can be revealed.
