Hello guys, this is Amosdollmusic and in today's lesson
I'm gonna teach you how to play the song by Maroon 5 called Girls Like You.
It's a new song
Okay, I'll be teaching you two sections in this lesson.
I'll be teaching you the chorus and the post-chorus section
It's pretty catchy stuff.
[G#] Give you a preview of the two sections right now.
So both sections play twice.
So it [C] goes like this
[G]
[Am] [F]
[C] [G]
[Am] [F]
[C] [G]
[Am] [F]
[C] [G]
[Am] [F] That's it.
[C] Okay
All right, so let's get right into [Em] it.
So go to the first section.
That's [C] the chorus section
Okay, so every section is actually played twice so all we need to do is actually learn the
Two main parts of every section and we pretty much got it.
Okay, here we go
So the first part right hand starts on the C here, middle C is here, go up an octave to the C
So it goes C [D#] D [C] E
C [C#] C [E] C B [C] C [Dm] D
Okay, and that's the first part for the right hand.
One more time for this first [C] part.
So it goes [D] C D [C] E
C C C B C
[G] D and that's the right hand for the first part.
Once you get that left [A#] hand two chords here
[D#] The two chords are [C] C major C E G and the second chord is G [G] major which is G B D
Okay, so [B] these two chords in mind [C] so C major [G] followed by G major two hands together goes like [A] this so C and C major [C] together
B and G major [G] together
And that's the first part one more time it goes [C] like this together
[G] Like that, okay moving on to the second part second part right hand continues [A] goes down to the A
A A A [C] up to C [Dm] D [Am] A
A A A C [Gm] D
So pretty easy.
It's like this six note [A] motive played twice for the second part.
Okay.
Yeah, so it's like four A's in A
A A A A [C] C [Dm] D
[Am] Repeat that A A A A C [Gm] D
Those are the notes for the second part
So that's the pattern for you to learn once you learn that on the left hand for the second part
We have two [C] chords here.
The [C#m] two chords are A [Am] minor which is A C E
And the second chord is F [F] major which is F A C
Okay, so these [C#] two chords [Am] in mind so A minor [F] followed by F major two hands together goes like this right hand starts [A] first
fourth A and [Am] A minor together
The [A] [F] same fourth A and F major together
Like that once again, there's like a pattern for you to remember
It's like the chord is on the fourth A of every like six note pattern.
Okay.
So yeah one more times goes like [Am] this
[F] Like that, okay one more time like [Am] this
[F] It's faster like that, okay, so back to back the two parts will be play like this so it [C] just goes
[G] [B] Repeat [Am]
[F] it, [C] okay
[G] [Am]
[F] Awesome stuff.
Okay after you get this let's move on to the post-chorus section.
So this is the yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah part
Okay, so it goes like this right hand
The first part is pretty simple in your five notes goes [C] C C and then C [E] C B
And that's it for the [C] first part.
So five notes one more time for this first part.
So it goes like this goes C C
[Em] C C B like that
So those are the five notes for the right hand once you get that left hand
Same two courses the first [C#] two chords of the first section.
So [C] it's C major to C E G and second [G] chord is G major
It's G B D
Okay, so [C] these two chords in mind says C major followed [G] by G major the two hands together goes like [Fm] this right hand starts first
after the C [C] C major by itself
Right continues B and G [G] major get off like that one more time to go [C] like this
[G] Let's get up like that
Okay, moving on to the second and last part of this [D] before [G#] [A] everything kind of repeats.
Okay, [E] so it goes [A] baby a
And [C] then C C [Fm] C C D [A] E like that.
[B]
That's it for the second part for the second section one more times goes baby [A] a
[C] C C C C [Dm] [C] D
And that's that for the right hand for the second part
Okay, once you get that left hand same two chords as the second part of the [C#] first section
So [Am] just a minor which is a CE and the second chord is F [F] major which is F a C
So these two chords in mind set a minor followed by F major the two hands together [C#] goes like this right and starts first
[C] [B] Hey and a [Am] minor to get up
Continues for C and F [F] major together
Like that one more [C#] times goes like this
[Am]
[F] No
That is the second part so back to back to two parts we've learned in this section just play [C] like this
[G] [Am]
[F] Peace
[C]
[G] Yeah, [Am]
[F] and that's that so pretty simple stuff so the two sections we learn
Okay, so first section is played twice as I showed and then the second section is also played twice like what I just shown
Just that okay
So after you get the two sections smooth
And even in terms of the notes and also the rhythm then you can start adding some like improvisational
Decorational patterns to it if you want okay, so you can be like let me [C] see so
Let me see you can do something like this.
Okay.
Let me see
[G] There's
[A] [Am] [F] [C]
[G] [Am]
[F]
like
[C] Something [G]
[Am] [F]
[C] [G]
[Am] [F] [C]
like that just made up on the spot
But it's still based up or the melody and cause I did just added like decorations and improvisational patterns on top of those
Chords and also the melody and stuff okay, so yeah, that's pretty much it
So if you want to learn more about how to do all this like improvisational patterns
Add stuff to your melody and chords to make stuff a lot more awesome

[C] _ _ _ _ [G] _ _ _ _
[Am] _ _ _ _ [F] _ That's it.
[C] Okay
All _ _ _ right, so let's get right into [Em] it.
Okay, so [B] these two chords in mind [C] so C major [G] followed by G major two hands together goes like [A] this so C and C major [C] together _ _ _
_ _ B and G major [G] together _ _
And that's the first part one more time it goes [C] like this together _ _
_ [G] Like _ that, okay moving on to the second part second part right hand continues [A] goes down to the A
A A A [C] up to C [Dm] D [Am] A
A A A C [Gm] D
So pretty easy.
It's like this six note [A] motive played twice for the second part.
Okay.
Yeah, so it's like four A's in A
A A A A [C] C [Dm] D
[Am] Repeat that A A A A C [Gm] D
Those are the notes for the second part
So that's the pattern for you to learn once you learn that on the left hand for the second part
We have two [C] chords here.
The [C#m] two chords are A [Am] minor which is A C E
And the second chord is F [F] major which is F A C
Okay, so these [C#] two chords [Am] in mind so A minor [F] followed by F major two hands together goes like this right hand starts [A] first
_ fourth A and [Am] A minor together
_ _ The _ [A] [F] same fourth A and F major together
Like that once again, there's like a pattern for you to remember
It's like the chord is on the fourth A of every like six note pattern.
Okay.
So yeah one more times goes like [Am] this _
_ _ [F] Like _ that, okay one more time like [Am] this _
_ [F] _ _ It's faster like that, okay, so back to back the two parts will be play like this so it [C] just goes _ _
[G] _ _ [B] Repeat [Am] _ _ _ _
_ [F] _ it, [C] okay _ _ _
[G] _ _ _ _ [Am] _ _ _ _
[F] _ _ Awesome stuff.
So it goes like this goes C C _
[Em] C C B like that
So those are the five notes for the right hand once you get that left hand
Same two courses the first [C#] two chords of the first section.
So [C] it's C major to C E G and second [G] chord is G major
It's G B D
Okay, so [C] these two chords in mind says C major followed [G] by G major the two hands together goes like [Fm] this right hand starts first
after the C [C] C major by itself _
_ Right continues B and G [G] major get off _ like that one more time to go [C] like this
_ _ [G] Let's get up like that
Okay, moving on to the second and last part of this [D] before [G#] [A] everything kind of repeats.
So these two chords in mind set a minor followed by F major the two hands together [C#] goes like this right and starts first
[C] [B] Hey and a [Am] minor to get up
Continues _ for C and F [F] major together _ _
Like that one more [C#] times goes like this
[Am] _ _ _
_ [F] _ _ No
That is the second part so back to back to two parts we've learned in this section just play [C] like this _ _
[G] _ _ _ _ [Am] _ _ _ _
[F] _ _ Peace
[C] _ _ _ _
[G] _ _ Yeah, [Am] _ _ _ _
[F] _ _ _ and that's that so pretty simple stuff so the two sections we learn
Okay, so first section is played twice as I showed and then the second section is also played twice like what I just shown
Just that okay
So after you get the two sections smooth
And even in terms of the notes and also the rhythm then you can start adding some like improvisational
Decorational patterns to it if you want okay, so you can be like let me [C] see so
Let me see you can do something like this.
Okay.
Let me see
_ _ [G] There's _ _
[A] _ [Am] _ _ _ [F] _ _ _ [C] _
_ _ _ [G] _ _ _ _ [Am] _
_ _ [F] _ _ _ _ _
like
[C] _ _ Something [G] _ _ _
_ [Am] _ _ _ [F] _ _ _ _
[C] _ _ _ _ [G] _ _ _ _
[Am] _ _ _ _ [F] _ _ _ [C] _
_ _ _ _ _ _ like that just made up on the spot
But it's still based up or the melody and cause I did just added like decorations and improvisational patterns on top of those
Chords and also the melody and stuff okay, so yeah, that's pretty much it
