Hello guys, this is Amos on Music and in today's lesson I'm going to teach you how to play
this song called Happier by Marshmello.
So here we go, I'll be teaching the very catchy drop section in the song.
It goes like this, check it out. _ _ _ _
_ _ [F] _ _ _ _
_ [Bb] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [D] And you repeat it, you can make it more awesome by doing more arpeggio patterns and all these
other rhythmic [Dm] patterns like this. _
_ _ _ [F] _ _ _
_ _ [Bb] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [F] _ _
_ _ _ [Bb] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _
_ [D] _ _ [Dm] _ _ _
_ _ _ Alright, but anyway, something like that.
So the improvisations are over the melody and chords that we're going to learn right now.
So [Ab] here we go, let's split it up into parts to learn it.
So it's not difficult at all, let's split it up into 4 easy parts so it's easier [G] to learn.
Here we go, first part goes like this, right hand starts on the F here, middle C, go [A] over
an octave to C, go up to F, that's where we start.
It goes like this, it goes 5 notes, F, F, [F] F, G, [Gbm] A, and that's it for the right hand,
so the 5 notes.
[F] One more time, it goes F, F, F, [B] G, A, and that's the 5 notes for the first part for
the right hand.
Once you get that left hand, we have one chord here for the first part, the one chord is
[Dm] D minor, 40 white note chord, D, F, A. _
So with that in mind, D [Db] minor, 2 hands together, it goes like this, D minor comes in by [Dm] itself,
right hand comes in, _ _ like that.
So pretty simple, it's like left, right, right, right, right, right.
So one more time, it goes, here, _ _ _ _ like that.
_ Now moving on to the second part, [Eb] right hand continues, it goes like this, right hand continues,
it goes 3 F's, 1, [F] 2, 3, up to C, down to A, [Dbm] those are the 5 notes for the second part.
One more time, so every part for the right hand has 5 notes, so pretty [F] simple to remember.
So one more time, it goes like this, it goes F, F, F, up to C, [A] down to A, and those are
the 5 notes for the right hand for the second part.
Once you get that right hand there, left hand, we have one chord here, the one chord is [Eb] F
major, another [F] 40 white note chord, F, A, C.
So with that F major in mind, 2 hands together, it goes like this, same rhythm as the first
part, [C] so left hand comes in [F] first, right hand comes in, _ _ like that.
One more time, it goes like this, here, _ _ _ _ and that is that for the second part.
So back to back, the 2 parts we've learnt [A] so far would be played like this, check it
out, it goes [Dm] here, _ _ _ _ _
[F] _ _ _ _ like that.
So the rhythm, remember, it's kind of like the chord comes in in a dotted [N] rhythm, and
the right hand comes in in a dotted, and then it goes to the normal rhythm.
It's like a typical, kind of like, subdivided 3-3-2 kind of beat.
It's like 1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2, 1-2-3, 1-2, that kind of thing.
So anyway, that's that for the 2 parts we've learnt so far.
Moving on, third part, something awesome happens because the third part's right hand is actually
exactly the same, so 5 notes, [G] F, F, F, G, A, [A] exactly the same 5 notes as the first part,
if you recall that.
The left hand, however, instead of D minor as the first part, it [Bbm] goes to B flat major
[Cm] as the [Bb] third part, which is B flat, D, F.
So with that B flat major in mind, [D] the two hands [C] together goes like this, so B flat major
comes [Bb] in, right hand comes in, _ _ _ same rhythm.
So remember, the third part pretty much really similar to the first part in terms of right
hand, just [Gb] the left hand changes [A] to B flat major, remember.
So it goes [Bb] like this. _ _ _ _
Like that.
Back to back, the 3 parts we've learnt so far in this lesson will be played like this,
[Dm] check it out. _ _
_ _ _ _ [F] _ _
_ _ _ [Bb] _ _ _
_ _ Okay, moving on to the fourth part, right hand continues, goes [F] F, F, [B] F, down to E, [C] down
to C, and that's it for the fourth part for the right hand.
One more time, it goes like this, F, F, F, E, C, that's it for the right hand.
Remember that for the right hand and you'll be [Ab] all good.
Once you get that right hand there, left hand, one chord here, the one chord is B flat [Bb] major,
which is B flat, D, F.
Okay, so with that B flat major in mind, the two hands together
goes [C] like this, goes chord by [Bb] itself, right hand comes in, _ _ like that.
One more time, it goes like this, it goes here, _ _ _ like that.
Okay, that's it.
Back to back, all four parts will be played [Dm] like this, check it out, it goes here. _ _
_ _ [F] _ _ _ _
_ [Bb] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _
_ [Dm] _ _ _ _ _
[F] _ _ _ _ _ _
[Bb] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [C] Awesome stuff, okay.
[Bb] So after you've got all the melody and chords correct, and also the rhythm, then you can
start adding left hand improvisational patterns and decorations on the right hand harmonizations
to make it sound more awesome.
Something simple like [Dm] a left hand rhythmic pattern can already make it an awesome thing to it.
All the chords can change like, _
_ _ _ [F] _ 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, [Bb] 1, 2, 1, _ _ 2, 3, [Ab] 1, 2, like that.
You can change that for all the patterns of the chords and it will sound awesome.
Check it out.
So applying that, it will be like this. _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [F] _ _ _ _
_ [Bb] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [Dm] Yeah, something like that already makes it a lot more awesome.
And then afterwards, obviously if [Db] you're more advanced, you can do more octave and arpeggio
different patterns to make it sound more awesome.
Something like this.
The right hand can harmonize based on the chords as [Dm] well. _ _ _
_ [F] _ _ _ _ _
[Bb] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [Dm] _ _ _
_ _ [F] _ _ _ _
_ [Bb] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [Dm] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _
Yeah, okay, but anyways, yeah.
So a lot of fun, like based on the melody and chords you can do a lot of stuff because
it's pretty much like, once you learn the melody and chords, it's kind of like substituting
stuff into the songs, kind of like substituting stuff into a math formula.
Okay, so yeah, it's not as difficult as you think it is.
If you want to learn how to do all this kind of stuff, I teach all these patterns and improvisational
patterns and everything [Ab] in my piano courses.
So check out the description below my website.

so the 5 notes.

So with that F major in mind, 2 hands together, it goes like this, same rhythm as the first
part, [C] so left hand comes in [F] first, right hand comes in, _ _ like that.
One more time, it goes like this, here, _ _ _ _ and that is that for the second part.

comes [Bb] in, right hand comes in, _ _ _ same rhythm.
So remember, the third part pretty much really similar to the first part in terms of right

So it goes [Bb] like this. _ _ _ _
Like that.
Back to back, the 3 parts we've learnt so far in this lesson will be played like this,
[Dm] check it out. _ _
_ _ _ _ [F] _ _

One more time, it goes like this, F, F, F, E, C, that's it for the right hand.
