[N] Please welcome Martin [Gm] Taylor.
Thank [Gb] you.
What you [Db] hear sometimes with [Bb] any instrumentalist that has been [B] inspired really by other instruments,
it's not necessarily so obvious.
[C] So [Bb] my [B] influences were mostly piano [C] players.
[B] That's why when I'm playing it's [Bb] really like the left hand and right hand of the piano,
so I'll have maybe a line on the top and then I've got [A] these other things going on.
So it's not like chord melody guitar playing.
This is linear playing, so I have lots of different lines [Db] all going on.
So I'm playing [D] it [Bbm] mentally.
[B] It's like a piano [Ab] player would approach it.
So the guitar player [Am] that was a master of that, of course, was great George Van Epps.
[C]
So [A] piano players were my influence, and one of those piano players was Art Tatum.
[Bbm] The first time I heard him, when I [A] was a little kid, my dad used to play his [Bm] records.
He [Bb] just used to make me laugh.
[Dbm] There's great sort of humor and [Ab] fun in his playing.
So I'll play something, a little tribute to Art Tatum.
I'm going to play some Stride.
Wow, excellent.
Stride [G] guitar.
I've got [D] rhythm.
