[N] Hi, this is Starling Jones and I'm going to be going over some chords to the song Marvelous Things.
This song is used to warm up the choir and it starts off in the key of A flat.
[Fm]
[Bbm] [Ab]
[Fm] [Eb] [Ab]
The left hand is on an A flat.
I double up on the A flat.
Right hand, I'll be playing an A flat chord which is an E flat, A flat, C.
I also like
to add that extra E flat on the top.
The [Eb] next chord, left [G] hand is on a G.
Right hand is on an [Eb] E flat chord.
E flat, G, B flat and I still have that E flat at the end here.
[Fm] Left hand, I [F] have an F.
Go back to the original A flat chord in the [Fm] right hand.
Then in my left hand, [A] I'll [G] walk from that G to the A flat to the A.
[A] When I hit that A, in the right hand I'll be playing an E flat, [Eb] G flat, A [A] and a C.
[Bbm] Next chord, in my right [Bbm] hand would be an F, A flat, B flat, D flat.
Then in my left hand, I'll be playing [Bb] a B flat, F, B flat.
You can just play both the B flats without the F and it'll be just fine.
[Eb]
Then I go to the 5 to the 1 pattern where my left hand will be on an E flat, B flat,
E flat or you can just play the straight double E flat.
My right hand, I'll be [Db] playing a D flat, [Ab] F, A flat, [Eb] C.
Keep the [Eb] same left hand, right hand, D flat, F, G, B flat.
Then you go back to your original A flat chord.
[Ab] Alright, I'll play through those chords again.
[Fm] [A] [Db]
[Ab] Alright, one thing you can do is change keys with this.
In [E] practicing this song with the choir, we go [Abm] from A flat to B flat to C [N] and then to D flat.
In order to transpose this, you want to play the 5 of the key that you're going to.
So right now I'm in the key of A [Ab] flat.
[Eb]
[Ab] Now I'll play the 5 in the key of B flat.
[C]
[F] Which the 5 in the key of B flat is the F.
[F]
Then I'll just go to the 1 chord in B flat.
[G] [Cm] [Bb] [Eb] Okay, I'm at the 5.
[F] Now when I want to go to C, I'll play the 5 in the key of C which is the G.
[G] See what I'm saying?
Then go to the 1 chord.
[C] [G]
[Dm] [C] Now if I want to go to D flat, I have to play the 5 in the key of D flat.
And that would [Ab] be the A flat.
[Eb] [Ab]
[Ebm]
[Eb] [Db] Alright, I'll go over that again.
In the key of A flat, [Fm] [Bbm] [Eb]
[F] I'll go to the 5.
[Gm]
[Eb] [Bb] Go down to the 5 in the key [G] of C.
[Dm] [C] [Eb]
5 in the key of D flat.
[Db]
[Bb] [Ebm] [Db]
Marvelous things in the key of A flat, [G] B flat, C and D flat.
[F] [Bb]
