[G]
I think I'd like to go back [C] home.
Take [G] it easy.
Hey there, I'm Matthew Sweet.
This is Susannah Hoffs.
Hi.
Together we are Sid and And Suzy.
Or Suzy and Sid.
[C] And everybody [G] seems to wonder [Em] what it's like [A] down here.
We recorded almost 40 songs.
[Gm] And there's 16 on the record.
And [Bm] then there's 10 [Am] bonus tracks on a [G] deluxe iTunes version.
And that has the Buzzcocks and the Ramones and all that kind of stuff on it.
But it's just [Am] so hard to fit all the types of [Ab] music.
We don't really make a list ever.
[G] It's more like if one of us thinks of something, it's like, what about this?
And we're like, yeah, let's do it.
And then we sort of do that [C] right then.
Because we record at my house, it's really fast [G] and easy.
It's easy, yeah.
So whatever we think of, we can just make a track for and go after it.
In a way, we cover records [Ebm] as much as songs, where we love that record.
[N] And we don't want to throw away what we think is cool.
But we sound different enough that it sounds like us, no matter what we do.
So we really do, like she says, we honor it.
We're like worshippers of records.
[B] Fan.
[Am]
Eternal
[G] [Em] Flame's been covered a lot of times.
And there was a girl band out of England called Atomic Kitten that had a big smash hit with
it over there.
And it's just the most flattering thing in the world.
If we get to the 90s, I'd like to do some Matthew Sweet stuff.
But we'll have already done some [C] Susanna Bangle stuff in the 80s.
Well, yes, we will have.
But maybe.
I'll have to sing, though, unfortunately.
Yeah, you see, that's the thing.
We'll do the gender-bending thing.
It's like I'm singing Maggie Mae on this record, so Matthew will sing songs that I sing and
I'll sing songs that he sings.
I think we could find some girlier songs for me to sing so I can go like you're doing.
Oh, [Abm] I like it.
[G] See, we've got a concept.
We could go volume three and four.
[C] [G]
[G] This is our anti-rock star sort of phase.
Yeah, we're playing these acoustic [Ab] shows and we're very not together [G] and we sort of talk
to the audience and everything.
And it's very embarrassing.
But that's [N] part of it, sort of.
Last night, I thought we played a song that we hadn't played yet.
[G] I'm just singing for us last night.
It's crazy.
It's sort of like I felt like I showed up in my pajamas or something.
It's never as bad as you think.
Like when you're on stage and you think you're having your worst time ever, [E] it's never that
You know, no one else [A] cares, ever.
Everyone forgives us [G] now.
Yeah, they forgive us a lot.
Because we're so old.
We've been around so [Abm] long.
They help us a lot.
[N] Yeah.
Thank God people [G] still want to come see live music.
I mean, here we are in a very sort of old [C] school setting here with a vintage cigarette machine.
And in a weird way, because [G]
the music industry is sort of destroyed by the internet, it's
way more fun for us.
Like all the weird pressure and everything's kind of exploded.
We don't care anymore.
[D] We don't have to worry.
[C] Well, we do, but we try not to.
We try [G] to keep it down.
[Em] [G]
I think I'd like to go back [C] home.
