_ _ _ [G] _ _ _ Our last album, _ _ _ [Ab] I asked him, who's your favorite
tenor player?
_ You know, in this era they call now, I think the collectors have named it jump blues.
[G] Some collector told me it was _ _ _ _ urban small horn band jump blues. _ _ _

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ First, I would like to say how grateful
I am for the opportunity to make music and records with Rick Danko, Garth Hudson, Levon
Helm, and Richard Manuel. _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
I'm convinced now, as I was then, that nobody in the world could sing
and play the songs that I wrote with as much believability and soulfulness as they have.
_ _ It's
an honor to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, just to be mentioned alongside the

Bob Dylan for not caving in when we were being booed everywhere we played,
and when just about everybody was saying, get rid of these guys. _ _ _
He didn't budge.
I'd like to thank
Capitol Records for gambling on a band with no name, Mo Austin for supporting The Last Waltz,
David Geffen for helping reunite Bob and the band, and Elbert Grossman for his kitchen _ _ _ _ and his
guidance and for actually starting the whole Woodstock thing. _ _
[D] If it wasn't for Elbert,
the festival might have been called Poughkeepsie. _
_ The _ _ Poughkeepsie generation, [Abm] it just doesn't
quite have the same ring to it.
