And I know the [E] town pretty well as far as the [Db] traffic is concerned, when to [Bb] go to town
and when not [E] to go to town, and back roads and all that stuff.
So we left, we had [D] to be at the airport at a certain time, [Gb] which put us [B] leaving around
7.30 now.
[N] From 7 to 9.30. in Nashville, Tennessee, it's just terrible. And so we got on the road and [Gb] it started backing up way before it was supposed to. So I told Heath, let's go a different way, we look like we have some time. [E] Well, [N] we should have stayed behind those cars. [E] Because we drove and drove, I really didn't think we were going to make it. We get there 30 minutes before time. I know that we would have been there [N] a lot sooner if we just stopped in the traffic. But we made it, everything [D] goes smoothly, we get [E] on the runway. Now Heath told me that we only had 30 minutes layover. [C] Well, that right there just scared me to death. Because I like having at least an [E] hour, hour and a half, two hours, [E] because you just, you don't know, don't know, what's the airplanes. [A] United. [C] We all know they'll break a guitar. [D] So I, [A] we get on the runway, okay, [E] we sit on the runway for a few minutes, waiting, and time is starting [N] to get away, so I'm hoping that maybe they'll catch up some time. But they didn't. So we get [F] close to Chicago and [E] our plane, [N] we have about 20 minutes to get to our plane to make it in here. And then we get down and we sit on the runway. We sit for 30 minutes. [E] And I'm claustrophobic, [Gb] I have panic disorder, [D] I'm not a good [Abm] flyer. And so [E] we're, you know, we're sitting there and I'm thinking we're not going to get to the WEPEC. And we're just going to be a mess. [E] What comes to mind on our plane was coming here was going to be a little late. [N] Which is about normal. And so we get out and it [Ab] just takes forever to get [Bb] our bags. [D] Well, anyway, long story short, we miss it. And we sit there for four hours at the airport in Chicago. We get in the plane [E] finally and we get here. And the reason why [C] we had to sit on the runway, or the tarmac there in Chicago, was because the gate, there was no open gate. Someone had stolen [N] my gate. [D]
We get here. My hand up. [E] Somebody had stolen [Bm] that gate. There was no gate here for the United [A] to get into. We need to talk to United [C] about getting a few more gates. And [Bm] things might go a little smoother. [Ab] I don't know. So we get off [D] and we get here. [N] It was a long day. Well, you know you've got to go through customs and I [Ab] love that. [B] And [D] our luggage is not [F] there. [E] And I'm thinking, you know what, I truly would have understood that we only had like 20 minutes to get [E] to our airplane. There's no way it's [N] going to make it. And I would have been fine with that even though I didn't want it to happen. [F] But they had four hours. [D] I could have gone and picked up everybody's luggage from the plane and got it [Cm] there and made the flight. [E] [G] So we get here late yesterday [D] evening and I'm trying to go to bed. We're trying to figure out. I've got on shorts, Adidas shorts, Adidas shirt and some tennis shoes. And that's all I have. [N] Nothing else. So I'm thinking I'm going to have to come on the stage like that. And I've never done that before. And so finally we [C] get a [C] call [B] that he's going to be [E] coming soon. So around midnight they call. [D] So I'm sitting there waiting. [E] In about 330 I get a knock on the door in the morning. [B] Mind you, I know I had to get up early to come to this [E] scene this morning. And [D] so I finally get my stuff and I'm so happy [B] I don't have to do it. You know, I knew, well, [Bb] I need to iron everything. [E] Everything's a mess. So you know what? Again, long story [A] short, I got about an hour and a half sleep last night. [E] So [Bb] when you don't sleep, [E] you don't get voice. [Am] Voice just, [C] it just leaves. [Ab] And so I tried to get a little [Ab] rest this afternoon to come and sing [E] tonight. And that just not happened too much either. I don't like sleeping during the day. [Ab] I like saving mine for the night [A] time. I don't know how you guys are. [E] [C] Because I've got to leave again on your night and tomorrow. And I'm just going to go ahead and expect. [N] It's just better to expect. [Bb]
I love those people at United. [E] We're supposed to love everyone. [C]
But I'm not too happy about them right [Ab] now. So y'all [N] pray for
