[N]
[Ab] [Gm] Hey folks
[A] How do that [Dm] like get started please for the kids [Eb] we're in the fender [Ab] layer
[Db] We're in Wildwood vision Rick.
That's what we're calling it.
[Abm] Whoa crazy.
It is crazy
It's [B] exactly what it is and we're here at NAMM
[Bb] 2,000 [B] million what is it 15 [C] BC how many [Eb] times we've been here?
Too many to count that's [Abm] correct of our bill why because we [Eb] love gear
We love money [C] well mostly gear because yeah, well we spend money.
They're kind of mutually exclusive
[Bb] And Rick's showing [D] us some of the new [C] gadgetry here [Db] specifically
This cool axe and the glorious new Michael Landau hot [Db] rod DeVille
Which is an [D] interesting [C] kind of a pedal lovers dream if you will absolutely [Gb] yeah, well you know people know [Gm] mr.
[Ab] Landau is being kind [Db] of the guitarist [A] guitarist.
Yeah, absolutely [Db] he changes a pedal [Cm] on his board
So does everyone else [A] so when people started hearing [B] that we were actually working with them
[B] They got very excited what we did is we decided to make you know the hot rod [N] DeVille
Which is the amp that he's been using on tour for a long time like all over the world
More to his specifications so what we did is we actually created an amp that has two channels that [Ebm] you can set up independently
[Eb] So you can have [Db] them as different volumes it now has a boost on the second channel, [C] and it doesn't have the overdrive
So it's a much more tonally pure sound okay on top of that.
It's got the selection B.
Type speakers, [Eb] okay?
Okay, which have a little bit more of a British flavor [G] to them a really nice [Dm] crunch
It's 60 watts.
It's got [C] this really glorious sound and as [Eb] you said it's like perfectly set up for when he uses pedals
So he uses it like the canvas his pedals being the brushes [N] right and they pepper status just like you're doing now
Delicious yeah, and these are available as of well.
They'll be we're gonna start making them soon
They should be [B] shipping out sometime in [Eb] March, okay?
Yeah, so [D] people can expect them at that time and you're also telling me some cool stuff about this [Ab] car would you mind yeah?
Absolutely well this is [Eb] one of the new
American standards the thing that's great [N] about this one is we've included what we're calling the Shawbuckers
Yes, Tim [E] Shaw is a pedal or I'm excuse me a pickup [Gm] guru, okay?
[D] He used to design pickups for for all [D] types of people and he's designed this amazing pickup.
It has [C] this clarity
And sound to it it's low output
And [D] it also has no wax potting so [C] it's got a really really nice top end sometimes pickups
Their humbuckers can be a little too mid-range you lose [G] some of the top end [A] the other cool thing [Eb] is that we've designed this pot
On the volume so that when [D] you're on the bridge pickup.
[G] It's 500 K.
So you retain the brightness you go to the [Gb] single coil
It's [D] 250 so then you retain that clarity as well.
That's always a thing it is a thing you're always compromising
[G] You don't have to do that.
That's really cool.
Yeah, let's hear a little bit of this
[B] So I'll start with the neck pickup just with the volume [Gbm] down a little bit
[D] [A]
[G] [D] [Ab]
[Gm] [Gb]
[Eb] [A]
[G] [E]
[D]
[A] [E]
[Db] [Dbm] [F] [A]
[Gb] [D]
[Fm] [Gb]
[B] [Gb] I'll tell you what that's really cool [C] because that as we were discussing
[G] That's the hardest [Eb] thing it is if you [G] want that the [C] girth of a humbucker back there
[Dm] You want clarity with those single [Eb] coil you do you want clarity you want the pickup to [D] sound like like a [G] single coil on steroids
Really is what the idea is it does that really well?
[F] And we're running in stereo right now.
It's just a little bit because you got some fender [A] pedal
We've got you know the the fender pedals where we've got the chorus distortion and drive here
We just wanted to show showcase that it doesn't take a $500 [Eb] overdrive to get a great [Gm] sound out of it
We're running the delay in stereo, so we actually have [G] both amps running so [Eb] you got left to right
We're setting one a little bit wetter with reverb and then the other one this one's dry
You just get [B] this really nice spread, and that's what Michael does when he plays live
[Bb] Excellent well, thank you so [G] much for showing us the ropes here and some really [N] cool stuff very exciting
I'm ecstatic
Nice to see you take it easy.
Thank you very much folks Greg cock here in the fender [G] layer with her kinds
We'll see you catch the flippity flop
