[B] NAMM 2017 [E] I get to meet a lot of good people doing this job and I'm getting to
meet a dude who I've been wanting to meet for quite a while because I actually
respect this guy a lot Michael Sweet from Striper.
This is deja vu man.
Isn't it [D] just?
We're going to be doing a movie [C] together.
Lisa seems to be pretty pumped [N] about the work that I do.
Oh yeah, absolutely.
And I want to take you up on your offer to come [F] and shoot Striper too.
Thank you.
That'd be amazing.
[G] Thank you.
I really appreciate [A] it.
Thank you for saying that.
And you said it on camera.
Nice.
Michael, you're just killing it.
Unbelievable.
Thank you Michael.
That really means a lot to me.
How do you do this with two [D] cameras?
Oh mate, you should see what I'm on octopus.
Damn, I'm going to have to do that again.
The audio wasn't recording.
Did I hit something?
No, no, no, no.
[C] I didn't sign out.
This is deja vu man.
[B] Isn't it just?
[A] The thing is, and I'm very [Am] blunt about this, I'm not a Christian guy at all.
Yet this guy [A] actually gets me listening to messages and you know what I take away from what you do?
Is not the whole dedicate your life to Christ thing, but just the fact of
be respectful to people.
Be respectful, love people and [E] inspire people.
And you know what the [D] thing is in this world, there's [Am] some of that, but not [A] enough of that.
No, that's exactly right.
And it's sad.
It really is [B] sad.
But Striper is a band that's trying to change that.
And I respect [A] that.
That's one of the things with you guys I genuinely respect.
I've noticed, look, I mean, I'm [F#m] 44 now, almost [F] 45.
[F#m] During the 80s there was such a big push on [G] if you are not a part of our crew, we don't want to [D] know you.
But you [E] guys weren't ever like that.
I appreciate that.
[D] So thank you.
We tried it and we've always tried to put out good music too.
[Dm] That's the flip side of the coin.
There's no question of that.
Michael actually [Am] watched a couple of my videos and it turns out he likes my work.
Unbelievable, dude.
[A] The Steve Vai footage blew my mind and we discussed you coming to shoot a Striper show.
So we got to make that happen, man.
[N] Thank you.
And it'll be the best live Striper video we've ever had.
That's a pretty big endorsement.
Thank you.
I'm up for that.
You're on camera now.
Just don't get this right here, okay?
Every rock star is having trouble with that.
Me too.
I use a [Dm] goatee to hide it.
I like it.
[Gm] So you've [Dm] played with a bunch of different guitar brands.
[A] Carvin, Washburn, sorry, Carvin, Jackson, [A#] PRS.
Jackson [Am] first and then I wound [A] up going to, I had [N] Tom Anderson's for a while.
I played those for a while and had a relationship with them and then I wound up doing PRS with Boston when I was in Boston.
And then I did Carvin and now I'm with Washburn.
So how did the Washburn relationship come about?
Well, I'll tell you.
I wound up reaching out to Gil and we went and had dinner together with a few other people from Washburn.
And instantaneously I was drawn to the company because of how nice they [D#] were.
That to me, [A] that's everything.
Relationships.
These don't [N] matter if you don't have that.
Yep.
If you have that, these are amazing.
And they were also able to, the icing on the cake, build me two guitars that I really am proud to play and happy to play.
These feel amazing.
[E]
[B] It's funny because these necks on my guitars [G] are very similar to the PRS Custom 24 necks.
Oh, okay.
So that's one thing that makes them different.
They've got the medium sized frets.
I don't like jumbo frets.
It's got the [G] cutaway which is real nice.
[E] It's lightweight.
[N] The yellow inlays.
My pickups are Seymour Duncan [B] Blackouts but they're reversed.
Oh, so you're using the bridge pickup and the neck pickup and the bridge. Exactly.
[Gm] And the reason why you can do [C#] that with these is they have the same [D] outplay.
Most [C] neck pickups you can't do that.
Of [D] course.
These you can and it sounds [C] amazing that [D] way.
Done by [C] mistake.
I've got [D] the Floyd upgrades, bridge, the blocks, the [Am] brass blocks.
I was going to talk about that.
I know Adam [B] Reaver.
You're with [E] FU Tone, right?
I love Adam.
So do I.
Adam is [B] amazing and he's taking care of me and he is [G#] the guy, man.
[E] His parts are in this guitar.
[C#] Some of his Floyd upgrades are in [A] this guitar.
Great.
That's very cool.
And [F#] that's a big part [C#] of the tone, [G] too.
That's why this guitar is so thin and lightweight [N] but it doesn't sound it.
Yeah, because he really makes great stuff.
This thing sounds like a, in my opinion, like a freebie.
[G] [A] It's got the Floyd Rose, [E] of course.
Do [A] they all come autographed?
They don't.
[D] Of course not.
They don't but if anyone [A] picks one up and connects with me somehow in [G] person, I will gladly autograph it.
You're a gentleman, aren't you?
[G] And then you're playing also the Priestess [F#] as well?
I am playing [A] the Priestess as well.
I've got to make this quick because you've got somewhere to [F#] go and I've got somewhere to be.
No worries.
This is an [A] amazing guitar.
Marzi designed this, obviously.
I [E] just did an interview with him as well.
Yeah, he's a great guy.
I [G] just did a couple of changes to it.
What changes?
You've moved the [E] volume?
You've got one volume and one tone?
[D] Yeah, I've got these volume and a tone and a selector.
My pickup's reversed.
[B] The neck is spec'd out a little differently.
And you took away the M from the inlay?
Although you could have kept it for the washboard.
I could have.
Well, there's the washboard back there.
But, [D] dude, this is a killer guitar, too.
[F#] It looks great.
It's fantastic.
[B] I actually do like your yellow and black theme.
I'm [E] quite a big fan of yellow with black.
You know what it reminds me of?
This, [B] especially.
This reminds me of a [A] Corvette.
If a Corvette were a guitar, that'd be [Em] it.
Very nice.
[A] Well, look, thank you very much [G] for your time.
I know you've got a busy day, as do [A] I.
It's been great to connect.
It's very nice of you and a pleasure.
Thanks for having me on, man.
It's an [G] honor.
Next time you're in Japan, we're definitely going to catch up.
For sure.
You speak Japanese?
Of [A] course.
I live in Japan.
Let me hear you speak some Japanese.
I don't understand Japanese.
Why?
That always amazes me.
I don't know why.
You're a smart man.
Thank you, Michael.
I appreciate [E] it.
Well, we're [A] done.
Thank you very much.
Anything last you want to say?
Everyone listening and watching,
I love you from the bottom of my [B] heart.
Can't wait to see you, whether it's in Japan or wherever,
anywhere in the world.
God bless you guys.
[A] Pick one of these guitars [N] up.
You'll love it.

And _ they were also able to, the icing on the cake, build me two guitars that I really am proud to play and happy to play.
These feel amazing.
[E] _
[B] It's funny because these necks on my guitars [G] are very similar to the PRS Custom 24 necks.
Oh, okay.
So that's one thing that makes them different.
They've got the medium sized frets.
I don't like jumbo frets.
It's got the [G] cutaway which is real nice.
[E] It's lightweight. _
[G] _ _ [A] It's got the Floyd Rose, [E] of course. _
Well, _ there's the washboard back there.
_ _ _ Why?
That always amazes me.
I don't know why.
You're a smart man.
Thank you, Michael.
I appreciate [E] it.
Well, we're [A] done.
Thank you very much.
Anything last you want to say?
_ Everyone listening and watching,
I love you from the bottom of my [B] heart.
Can't wait to see you, whether it's in Japan or wherever,
anywhere in the world.
God bless you guys.
[A] Pick one of these guitars [N] up.
You'll love it. _ _
