I could write a book about my day getting [G] here.
It's just insane.
I get to the airport.
I travel all around the [Em] world.
I get to the airport [G] in Atlanta and the lady behind the desk says,
You're not going to Jo'burg.
I'm not putting you on this plane.
I'm going, Why not?
She says, You don't have an empty page to your passport.
Jo'burg needs an empty page.
I'm going, I've never heard of that.
[Em]
And I literally did not have an empty page.
I'll [C] make it real short.
So they put me in a hotel.
I'm on the [Em] flight the next day.
And so I go to the passport [G] office in Atlanta [Em] and spend the whole day.
And [C]
they tell me at the end of the day, they're not going to give me a [Am] passport.
So, [Em] but thankfully [G] I know some people in Washington DC and
some people in our [Em] government and they pull off a miracle.
[C] But you know that kind of stuff used to, and I'm obviously made the flight [Am] and
we had a [C] police escort and [G] I literally got off the plane and
an hour and a half later, I'm [Em] hitting the stage after flying for 15 hours.
[C]
And did the show Pretoria.
And so [Am] it's been an incredible week.
You know that [Em] kind of stuff used to really, [D]
[G] it would just,
because I've sort of, [Em]
I've never done well with [C] sort of like,
I've got a plan and all of a sudden my whole plans are messed up.
And in the past I'd get [G] ticked off, and I'd get mad.
[D] But I was [Em] so at peace about the whole thing, going, you know what?
And I remember [C] going, walking out of the airport in [Am] Atlanta,
while my whole [G] team is pulling [D] away from the gate [G] and
coming to South Africa except the artist.
[D]
So, [G] and I thought, you know, I'm supposed [Em]
to, God,
you must have somebody [G] I'm supposed to meet.
I'm supposed to have an encounter with [Am] somebody.
So [G] I sort of embraced it.
[D] And so I walked out [Am] the airport and I [G] had my phone out, and
they gave me a hotel, it's just like less [Em] than ten minutes away.
And I called Uber, [C] and I got an Uber driver, and [G] his name was Ruben.
[Am]
So Ruben and I started talking, and he goes, [A] what brings you to Atlanta?
Well, [D] I'm from [G] Nashville, [Em] and I'm supposed to be on a plane to South Africa.
Why are you on a plane to [C] South Africa?
So I told him the whole story, you know, what happened.
[Am] He goes, man, that's crazy, man, [G] I can't believe you're not on a flight,
whatever, [D] talking.
So he wants to know [Em] what I do, that's why I'm a singer.
And [C]
I'm pop music, Christian music.
[Am] Man, I was in Bible camp.
I went to Bible camp as a kid, you know, [G] and [D] starts to tell me a little bit of
this story and [Em] how he just got married and his wife was not into Jesus.
And he decided he's not into Jesus, and he's like,
he's sort of walked away from the [G] faith.
So I just told [Em] him a little bit about my journey, and
[C] that I just had this massive encounter with Jesus that changed my life.
[Em] So we're literally like [G]
pulling up to this gate to get into [D] the hotel, [Em]
and
it'd been solid for maybe [G] 15 seconds.
And so he says to me, [Em]
all right, I've got 30 seconds left with [G] you in this car.
Would you explain [Em] to me what you mean by [G] a radical encounter with Jesus?
[Em]
And I told him.
[G]
And we pulled up in front of the hotel, [Am] and he said, [G] well,
[Bm] I had a pastor in my car two days ago.
I got you in my [Am] car today.
[G] There's something going on.
[C] So I said, well, bro, I pray for you.
I'll never forget you.
Just want you to know [Bm] that I believe there's a call of God in [G] your life.
[A]
And I got out of the car, said goodbye, got [D] out of the car, and
I thought, [A] that's why I missed my flight.
[C]
So it was all worth it if it just [G] was for that one guy.
[A] And then the whole trying to get the passport and
then all kinds of other crazy things happened.
[Am] But God just [C] had a plan.
[G]
And yeah, I never could have orchestrated that one.
[A] But he's in all the details of our lives every day.
He wants [C] to do something, and we just gotta pay attention to [G] it.
And a lot of times we just get busy and we get frustrated.
[A]
And writing's on the wall.
[D]
[A] Every [Em] day's supposed to be sort of a [G] critical and a wonderful day for somebody.
[Em]
So I'm glad I'm paying attention [G] to that more as I get older and
[Em] more wiser and you start to [G]
say, don't let [D] me miss it.
[Em] And unfortunately, I've missed it in the past and I [G] don't ever want to do that.
I want to finish well.
[Am]
But that's the [G] short story of what happened in getting [D] here.
And it's been an incredible week.
It's been absolutely [Am]
incredible.
It's gone by [G] way too fast.
So, [D]
and I look forward to hearing the stories about what [Am] happened
in [G] South Africa after I get back to [C] America.
So, and hopefully we'll be back soon.
It's just insane.
