Good day, I'm Ben Seymour of Kudzu Patch Productions and I have a new instrument to show you today.
This one just came off the table and this is the new Hawaiian hollow neck Wiesenborn style dulcimer.
And, uh, styled after a Wiesenborn guitar, except the sound holes are totally different
and stuff like that, but the basic concept is there.
And, uh, this has, I have it strung up as four equidistant strings right now, but I
have it set so that you can do it like a regular dulcimer.
Um, what I've done now is have a low bass string, so I have it tuned high D, A, D, and
then a low [A] A.
And the sound is huge.
It just keeps on coming.
It's brand new, [D] it hasn't even broken in yet and it's already just got [N] great sustain and everything.
This is something that I just thought I would do.
And so I've kind of had it on the table, parts of it, for about a year and then finally decided
to go ahead and get the thing finished up.
So this is the result and I thought I'd bring you a tune today.
I'm going to do a waltz, it's called Midnight on the Water.
And I've heard a lot of waltzes done kind of clipped and short and I like them kind
of long and flowing and it just makes them so beautiful that way.
But anyhow, I've heard this played both AAB and then AABB and so I'm going to do it AABB.
But here we go.

There [N] it is, the brand new Wiesenborn style, hollow neck Hawaiian style, whatever you want
to call it, dulcimer.
It is strung up as a dulcimer.
I had two more strings, it would actually be a [D] full-blown Wiesenborn and the body was
just a little bit bigger.
But anyhow, I've already got some orders on [N] this and so if you'd like one of these for
your very own, feel free to give us a call and or an email and you can find us at www .kudzupatch.net.
Now this is at the bottom of the page on kudzupatch.net.
It's under kudzupatch instruments, dulcimers I should say.
And it's at the very bottom, it's been put up there and you can see some of the great wood.
The top on this particular one lucked out, happened to have some bear claw sitka and
so it has those wonderful little marks in it.
And also, the back of this is absolutely gorgeous wood.
This is called Waterfall Ribbon Stripe African Mahogany and it's just beautiful stuff.
Kind of actually looks a little bit like curly maple, or I mean curly acacia.
So it's very, very nice wood.
But anyhow, and I don't think I have any more of this particular wood anymore, but I have
some wonderful [D] woods out there that would make great ones.
[N] But anyhow, so like I said, feel free to give us a call and or contact us by email.
And you can also do some neat little bass things on this just to get [E] that big fat sound,
that's what I like here.

Okay, I hope you've enjoyed that and I'll see you [G] again soon.
Thanks a lot [Dm] for listening.
Bye bye.
