[Eb] Welcome to Flash Back Favorites.

A great example of Blue-Eyed Soul has got to be Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels.
Mitch and the Wheels had some great hits in the mid-60s like Devil With the Blue Dress On, Jenny Take a Ride, and Sock It to Me Baby.
Well, as the 60s were coming to a close, so were Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels.
But Mitch Ryder formed another group in 1971 called Detroit.
In 1972 they released an album by the same name and this single called Rock and Roll.
Written by Lou Reed and originally performed by Lou with The Velvet Underground in 1970 from their album called Loaded.
What makes this single a little extra special is the fact that it's produced by Canadian producer Bob Ezrin,
who's well known for producing lots of big rock artists like Pink Floyd, KISS, Alice Cooper, and Lou Reed.
And Lou Reed is once quoted as saying he thought the Mitch Ryder and Detroit version of his song is better.
This tune never charted, never made the Hot 100, but I think you're going to like it.
Check it out from Detroit featuring Mitch [C] Ryder.
