Hello, [Bb] my name is Mitsuki [F] and we are at Amoeba and this is what's in my [Eb] bag.
[A]
[G] [E]
[G]
[Cm] The first thing I got, I got two [Gm] Hayao Miyazaki movies.
I [Cm] have a box [Fm] set of all his films.
[Gm] Up until this one, The Wind Rises, [C] I think it's his newest one.
[D]
[Cm] [Cm]
[Gm] [F] [E]
[Bb] But I've been [C] having a hankering to [Fm] watch this one and I've been on the road for a long [Cm] time so I haven't had a chance to get to my box set.
[Ab] [Eb]
I just grew up [F] with his films.
[E] Princess Mononoke was the first film [B] I ever saw or the first film I remember seeing and being affected by.
[Dbm]
[E] [Am]
[C] His movies, [Am] I feel like they [E] just give me the answers on how to live.
[F] I don't know.
They're so kind and hopeful.
[G]
[Gb] I got a notebook because I've been needing [Ab] one.
My current [Eb] notebook is filling up and I thought it was apt.
Last year [Db] I kind of went back and found my [D] journals and realized I didn't remember any of the things [A] I wrote down.
[F] And so even the stuff [D] that feels boring now I feel like might mean something to [Db] me later.
[D] So I got a notebook.
[Gbm] I [Ab] got Ceremony, Violence, Violence.
Oh, I've [N] never
The thing is I haven't really listened to this one.
This is the cover and I guess on the [Bb] back cover it's upside down.
So, which side is [Eb] upside down?
[A] The first one I listened to was Ronert Park like most people.
[E] They [F]
sound [E] [F] like
[Em] [F]
[B] I'm sorry, Jeff.
I don't want to let you go.
I'm sorry.
[Eb] [Dm] I got [D] Bartók.
[G] I got it for the Romanian dances [G] played [E]
[Dm] [Bm] by the Swiss Romand Orchestra.
[B] I haven't listened to this recording, so
[Eb] I wanted to get Transfigured [G] Night by Schoenberg [Eb] because I wanted to get that on vinyl.
[D] That's one of my favorite pieces, but they [F] didn't have it.
[D]
[Ab] I feel like Bartók actually writes great melodies [Bm] that we can learn from [D] today.
[Eb] It's just like [D] folk melodies.
It's just very
Bartók's very pop.
[E] [G] And classical is one of those [A] things I think where [D] it actually does sound good on vinyl.
[Bm]
[D] [G] That's kind of the impression I [A] get.
There's less bass.
[C] Heavy bass is what kind of fucks up vinyl sounds.
[A] And this doesn't really have it, so
Anyway, I got that.
[Db] I got a CD of Hypnic Jerks by Spirit of the [Bb] Beehive.
[Db]
[Eb] [Ab] Spirit of the Beehive is a band
Actually, I think they're my favorite band.
[Bbm] They're a Philly [A] band.
[Gb]
We [E] played a DIY [Gb] house show together [Dbm] and [E] I've been following them [N] since.
They would make weird soundscapes but then suddenly [Eb] open up to a super pop melody
that you can sing along to and then go back to [E] weird.
I think it's very beautiful.
[Bb]
[A] [Ab] [G] That's that.
Thank you [Bb] so much.
[E] Thank you.
[B] [E] [B] [E] [B]
[E] [B]
[E] [B] [Db] [E]
