signature Firebird [Eb] pickups from Mojotone.
These were created by the [Cm] late, great Mr.
Winter and Mojotone's master pickup designer,
David Sheppard.
[F] Johnny [Cm] originally contacted Mojotone about a custom [F]-wound set of Firebird replacement
[Eb] pickups after becoming [Gb] dissatisfied [Eb] with the constricted voice and flat dynamics of the
pickup set he was using.
[C] The pickups they designed ended up being a perfect match for Johnny's unique tone and
style, exhibiting a full, natural [F] frequency response and a broad dynamic range.
[Eb] Mojotone also perfectly [C] balanced the output [Fm] between the neck [C] and bridge pickups, making
for a seamless transition [G] between tones.
Following [C] several months of touring with the new [Bb] pickups, [Ebm] Johnny and [C] Mojotone decided to
release them [Gm] as a signature model.
[Ebm] The Johnny [F] Winter Firebird signature pickups are based on a recipe of aged, [C] cast alnico
magnets, vintage-spec 42-gauge plain enamel [G] wire, and a steel [Cm] reflector plate.
They're also available in chrome, gold, or relic [Bbm] finishes, with mounting [F] options for
Firebird [Bbm] or Les Paul [F] Deluxe guitars.
And like all [C] Mojotone pickups, they're handmade in the USA. _
[Gb] Getting back to a clean tone, let's hear the balanced output that Johnny was looking for
in these pickups.
Also, with both pickups on, you get this extra bit of jangle on the [C] top end.

while still retaining its full low end.
