Start Jamming...
So we're here sitting with Matt Starr and Mr.
Pat Torpy himself from drummerzone.com.
Pat, it was a big surprise to see you on stage, nobody expected that.
And you just said, well, I wasn't sure myself before.
Well, [D] I was a little, I'm not surprised I'm here because I knew I was coming.
But there was a time not [G] too long ago, I wasn't sure how much I was going to be able to be
involved in the show because of my health.
[E] If people don't know, I've had some health problems and I was kind of weak.
[D] But I felt a little better every day.
I was getting better with help from my family and my fellow band members.
And next thing you know, I said, I want to go too.
And so [E] I'm here.
It's great.
Right.
So how are you doing?
[N] I'm doing really well.
Um, right now I have a little beginning of the tour soreness.
You know, you get a little sore because you're not used to that adrenaline [D] and you're trying
a little bit harder, but it's, it's, you know, it's a good kind of sore.
You know, I, it's, I'm not [F#] that worried about it.
And my energy level is good.
We saw that on stage.
You played a couple of songs.
Yeah.
And, [G] uh, you know, I'm hoping to be, to be able to do more.
It's got to take one day at a [Fm] time.
How's that for you having [D] him around?
It's [A] amazing.
It's amazing.
It's, it's such a unique [G] situation and, you know, the material can be challenging and
[F#] I've never felt so comfortable and relaxed right from the beginning, you know, [D] uh, [G] which
I, you know, I was talking to my tech was saying, you know, if someone, depending on
what your head space was, this could [C#] be a stressful situation.
But [D] for me, it's like I'm hanging out.
[A#] I mean, I'm hanging out with Pat Torpey, you know, and you know, we're, we're playing
[A] together and, [E] and the cool thing too, that, you know, [G] if you fill in for somebody, that
guy's not there usually, but so I get to watch Mr.
[G#m] Big and him and Billy and, [D] you know, I
get to watch these guys play and hang out [G] and then be part of that as well.
So it's just as a really cool, it's amazing.
You know what I mean?
And I'm just keeping the C1, you know what I mean?
That's, it's his chair and I'm just, and it's actually a TAM chair.
[A]
Exactly.
Because they are the most comfortable.
