Hold up that CD!
It's coming out this Tuesday, 13th step of Perfect Circle, on demand.
Now [Ab] in the video for Weekend Powerlist and in the artwork, there's a lot of creepy crawlies.
How does that connect to the music?
[Am]
Creepy crawly music sometimes, [Ab] you know?
Not all the time.
[N] So it scares some people, but other people aren't afraid?
I don't think it's supposed to be scary, it's just imagery.
Imagery?
Yeah, I mean, look at the cover's not too creepy, it's not all black and grey and dark looking.
But some people don't like all these things, lots of them.
What's spaghetti?
It's just spaghetti.
Dinner!
It's spaghetti.
It's just spaghetti.
It's spaghetti, fine.
Like the Chinese crunchy noodles.
The current lineup in a Perfect Circle, is this based on friendships?
Or was the idea to create what has become a supergroup?
[A] It sort of just happened that [C] way.
I met Josh at [E] a party and they were looking [N] for a bass player.
And I was looking to do stuff, so I ended up joining.
[G] We needed a guitar player, we literally couldn't [Ab] find one.
And James was one of [Em] the first people we thought of.
And [Ab] Billy emailed him and he was into it.
It just sort of evolved [N] into this.
It wasn't planned out to be that way, but I guess it has made it that way.
So when you're in a real band, that gets paid to make music,
it works just kind of like you're in your first band, kind of casual.
You meet people, hey, this guy might be cool, let's bring him in.
[Am] Yeah, I think that seeing that James and Maynard and I have played and toured
and done a bunch of stuff.
I mean, [D] Billy and Maynard [Ab] and I, we just knew Jordy.
Billy and Maynard both had known Jordy from before.
And [N] we all knew James from when we toured on Somersault, two, three years ago.
So yeah, we didn't set out to go find famous guys from famous [E] bands.
We thought of [Bb]
bass players and guitar [N] players,
and they're just kind of peers and people that we knew.
This CD right here is copy controlled.
What does that mean?
It means that there's some new technology on it,
so you won't be able to burn it or rip it.
That's debatable on its own.
I wanted to know if the band was involved in that decision.
No, but I like it.
You like it?
That's the first I saw of it today.
So what role do you play in all the business stuff, if any?
I try and stay out of it.
I say I'm just the drummer, leave me alone.
What about the other guys?
What he said.
So when do you have band meetings?
Rarely.
Never.
You've never had a [A] band meeting?
I don't know.
I guess.
Maybe.
Maybe, yeah.
Have we?
I don't know.
No.
No.
We just
How does it smell?
It smells nice.
Really?
Because a lot of bands have either done that or kissed it or dropped it or
So I was wondering.
That smells like microphone.
[N] You smell it.
That one smells better than this one.
Yeah?
Maybe you're wearing perfume or [C] flavor lip balm or something.
[N] How are you feeling now?
Great.
What role does
Well, I'll move on.
I'll throw another question at you.
What role does humor play?
For the band.
Pretty big one, believe it or not.
Music's not very humorous, but, you know, we're a bunch of jackasses.
[F] [A] You gotta have fun.
You can't take yourself too seriously [F] or anything too seriously.
[Ebm] Is that [A] ever a risk for any of the guys in a perfect circle?
What, taking yourself too seriously?
Being too serious or coming off too serious?
Sometimes.
Is that a good answer?
[N] Yeah.
You guys enjoy doing interviews?
Is this humorous?
Sometimes.
Yeah.
The one-word interview.
Doing it well.
All right, we Yes.
Yes?
Just ask yes or no questions and you'll get the answer.
And then just a whole bunch of them, we could get to it.
True or false?
Okay, maybe Multiple choice.
I'll work on a couple of those.
Give us some decisions.
Do you use Harry Caray?
Do your what?
Do your what?
What did you say?
Do your what?
I don't wanna do a Harry Caray interview.
No.
All right, we're gonna stop something that's called What about
We need some questions for you.
If the moon was made out of spare ribs, would you take a bite?
Barbecue spare ribs.
No way, I'm vegetarian.
[C] What if it was made out of cheese?
[N] Are you vegan?
No, I'm not.
So it depends what kind of cheese.
If you had a choice of getting mad cow disease [Am]
or be the best in your profession, what would it be?
Hold [N] on, is that a trick question?
I'm working on being the best in my profession.
We have to take care of what's called a Vodamatic, where videos compete.
And it was Limp Bizkit against Metallica against Korn.
And I'm gonna pick over here
They all lost.
Eat you alive, Limp Bizkit.
They're all so good, I don't know which one to choose.
You love them all.
[C] Man, these lights are hot.
[N] We're gonna go with Limp Bizkit, you guys stickin' around.
We'll let you cool off, take a break from the lights, and we'll see you after this.
That's crazy.
Answer the question for the band.
I was just wondering how the dynamic of the band has [Bbm] changed with the new line-up and all.
[N] That's crazy.
That's [Bbm] a tough question.
[Ab]
It's good, I mean, I don't know.

Pressure.
Jordy's good on [N] the bass, James is good on the guitar.
It works.

Yeah.
[Abm]
Okay.
[N] Jordy's pretty good.
Aww, stay with us!
You guys are at the Opera House [G] tonight, sold [Abm] out, you're off to Europe tomorrow.
Safe travels [Bb] to a perfect circle, say hi to Maynard for us.
