The group started out as the original lineup of the Sugar Babes, but after a bit of a break up and more than 10 years apart,
Mötje Bueno, Keisha Buchanan and Javon Donaghy are back by popular demand.
And the trio have re-branded themselves as MKS, [N] their first name initials.
In a moment we're going to hear their new single and find out about the upcoming tour,
but first let's remind ourselves of their original sound.
[C#] Dre [C#m] comes, I don't know its [F#] destination

[E] I'm older than my years
[E] [B] Drowning [A] in my tears
[E]
Surrounded by the fear
Since you went away
[B] [E] A year ago [B] At Christmas
[E]
[C] Yeah
It [B] doesn't really [Em] matter
Sometimes [G] we run for [C] cover
I'm always [B] on the [Em]
outside
[Em]
[C] Running on the
You never [B] heard the squeals in the studio

The sitting on the chairs
I'm not surprised you were nervous
I mean that's very young to have all of that kind of focus on you
[D#] You talk about the fact that you grew up as friends
[E] but there was this moment wasn't there when [F] you split up
and I mean as splits go, yours was described as pretty acrimonious
so how do we get [D#] from that point to the point where you are sitting smiling together here on the sofa?
We were so young and it was only when we met back up again
with the thought of possibly doing music together that we realised that
there was a lot of [E] things that we didn't know that happened
there were a lot of people around us that would tear us apart
and like pull [G#] one person aside and say that
so we never [N] actually knew what the problem was
I wish someone sat us down and sort of knocked our heads together
because I think that you know you're too nervous to just openly communicate
you know when you're that young
and when we kind of met up and started hanging out again
we realised that the problems that felt so big were really small
and sort of didn't exist anymore
Do you feel then that in a way people were pulling your strings?
Yeah, there was a lot of stuff going on when we were younger
And I think it's easy because I think then you sort of gain that sort of power
when you've got more of a divide going on
but like now we're thick as thieves and we're like oh no we've split from the mine away
And we also realise that you've put a positive team around you
like we have the power to do that and we have done that
so it's really lovely now
Would it be fair to say that your relationship at the time, flatlined?
Oh gosh, that's the name of your new single isn't it?
Flatline
[B] There you go, here we go, let's have a look
[C]
[E] Which is why you had to go to Los Angeles to film Venice [F] Beach
What is [E] different for you [Bm] this time around the way you work together and the music?
Because you've got an album, you've just finished working on that
[N] That'll be out next year
I think now we just have a very clear idea of who we are individually first of all
and how we work together as a band, we really do trust each other
We basically A&R'd our album, we are just feeling very positive
You A&R'd your album, what does that mean?
We've got the list of producers together, we contact them
You chose the people who you've chosen
It was important to us that we explored all avenues
We're all very different genres of music and I think it's the blend
when it comes together that's what's really special about this band
Is it really weird that while you are MKS there is this constantly shape-shifting Sugar Babes entity
out there at the same time living in a parallel musical universe?
I don't think they're actually [D#] doing anything at the moment
but I think for us people always say the original Sugar Babes
and we don't mind because that's who we are and we never run away from that
We love the new name probably because of that
It was about a fresh start and acknowledging that this time for us is about the three of us
and about what we set out to do originally
You're setting about things in a different way in the sense that
previously you [G] were driven around in limousines [B] all the time
now you're [N] actually going by public transport Sometimes
Here we go
Those of you who can work out where you're going on public transport
It wasn't even that
I'm not very good at changing overs
When we first got back together, I take the Tube all the time
For me it's the best way of getting around London
We always got picked up and dropped off
I actually sold my car and I was supposed to get another one
Then one day I was stuck and I was like, there's no taxis
She was like, get on the train
I got on the train, it was the most amazing experience ever
I was like, you can get there so quickly
Then we got Matias involved
It's revolutionary
It's amazing
It's the quickest way around
You don't need to tell people, they know Matias
I haven't got a car since then
We love it, we love it honestly
Get out there, try it
I can't help it, I love jumping on it
Back in the limelight, you might get spotted shortly
We do quite a lot
I was sat next to someone who was listening to one of our old albums
Sitting on the train
Matias actually [B] bought something in, it was this newspaper clipping
She was like, I got this off a guy on the train
I was like, excuse me, can I have that?
It was us on the paper
When you heard the music coming through the earphones
[E] Did [F] you tap them on the shoulder?
She started singing along
[Em] I didn't, I just sort of looked
He just looked up and was like, oh my god I'm listening
He did realise you were there
No he didn't, I was just sitting next to him
I was like, he looked up and was like, oh my god
I've been on the tube and they've been reading [F] ES Magazine
And reading our article [N] next to us
You will be performing again though, right?
Yeah, yeah
We've got a tour coming up in November
So when you start, will there be nerves?
Will you have to sit on stools to begin with?
Just for the one song
We go on tour and we're so excited about it
And can't wait to see our [F#] fans
[F] Well it's great to see you, thanks so much Thank you
Of course this morning for one thing
[G] This morning you could have called yourselves
Not the Sugar Babes but the Sofa [D#m] Babes
The Sofa Babes, well there you go, there's a new one
The MK single Flatline is out now
We're going to speak to the author of the Jack [G#] Reacher thrillers
Lee Child in just a moment
[D] Before we do, here's a last quick look at what's happening
Where you are this morning
See you in a moment
