_ Hey, this is Rich Osweiler coming to you from the 2013 [E] NAMM show in Anaheim, California
[G] I'm here with [Bb] Dave Gonzalez [Eb] from Takamine Guitars.
We're gonna [Bm] talk about a few things
We're [E] gonna start off with the new Pro Series
Which actually breaks down into a number of different [Db] categories and Dave's gonna
Kind of tell us how that works and take us through a [Bb] few of the models.
Dave what's happening?
How you doing, Rich?
I'm [Ab] doing good.
Good man.
So [Gb] on this wall here.
We have our [C] new Takamine Pro [E] Series lineup
[N] This represents sort of [Bb] total revamping of [N] the entire Takamine Pro Series, so as you start here
To our [F] left and go this way we [Ab] have
[D] Entirely new set of series within our Pro Series Series 1 through Series 7
[F] This represents, you know different price point different levels of [E] appointments
Obviously the number [Bb] as you go up [Bbm] exponentially gets [Ab] a little bit more expensive with [Gb] higher higher appointments
So start out with our [Gb] one our Series 1 stuff here _ _
Great [F] range of models within this we have [B] the classic
Takamine [Eb] NEX body style which is really one of our most popular ones
Obviously [A] dreadknots in both cutaways and non cutaways solid cedar tops
[G] They have the CT4 V2 pickup system and the Takamine Palathetic pickup of course
Which is one of our [Em] hallmarks and what Takamine is known for.
[Gb] Right here
We're just going to go to [E] the Series 3 here kind of jump jump [Bm] ahead a little bit
Series 3 [Db] is kind of the next level up as you [B] see some more [Db] refined appointments
[Gbm] We have wood purfling and wood rosettes really tasteful.
These really cool looking wood dot in dot inlays what we call those
_ Upgraded tuning package there with the [Eb] cool tuners.
[B] These all have bone nuts and [Gb] saddles
It's a solid cedar top on the Series 3 stuff with some bailey [Gbm] back and sides
_ [D] They all have the the Takamine pinless bridge as well
Which is [Bm] a really really cool feature [B] make string changes really really easy
And they all have the [Gb] Takamine asymmetrical neck design which makes really really comfortable [N] feel and playability so as we move up
We'll jump into some of the the higher range here, which is the stuff
We're releasing at the show we launched the Series 1 through Series 3 late last year and here at the show
We're launching the Series 4 through Series 7
I'm gonna jump to the Series 5 here because it's right in front of us
Series 5 as [Ab] you see here solid spruce tops [B] with the rosewood back and sides beautiful beautiful [F] guitars
get [N] step up to your abalone appointments on this [Gb] see on the rosette and [E] the
_ Abalone dot in dot [Ab] inlays which are very cool and [B] very unique
_ _ [F] These [Gb] these feature our new
_ [Abm] preamp system, which is the CT 4 DX
It's a dual channel system that allows for easy
[F] Addition of a [E] second [D] pickup source such as a magnetic sound hole pickup or a [Eb] transducer pickup
[G] And it actually [B] splits the control so that you have [Db] control over each [C] each
Individual [B] pickup or source [Eb] and you have two notch filters you have to low and high EQ
You have a blend knob and a master volume a really really great sounding system when you couple it with a second pickup source
Okay, so we'll move up here to our
Series 6 [Gb] and [G] as you see here a beautiful sunburst finishes
These these are flame [E] maple back and sides with solid spruce tops, of course
You see we get into mother of pearl [Ab] inlays there with the cool snowflake inlays and the [B] rose down this jumbo.

_ _ _ So this is our any X body styles matter of fact
This is one of our most popular ones a lot of people would refer to this as a mini jumbo
Really a [N] compact body style that is actually pretty deep and it allows a really [B] focused yet robust sound
You know a lot of volume out of it for a small guitar like it is
And it's a really nice focus down really versatile
You can do finger styling on this hard strumming and it [Db] just it'll keep up with just about anything
So one of our one of our most [Bb] popular body styles
[B] I have that cutaway and a non cutaway version in this line
We have a lot of requests from people that [N] I just don't want the cutaway
So we offer that as well and then at the [A] very top of the range
We've got our series 7 here, which is [N] kind of the ultimate, you know
it has all the fancy [Bm] appointments as you see here the
[Eb] _ Flame [Db] maple binding all [Gb] around the body [Eb] and the neck and the [Bb] headstock
All of your mother of pearl inlay and [Eb] abalone inlay work.
It's got some wood purfling as well, which is really beautiful
_ You know solid [F] rosewood back and sides
[Gb] Yeah, beautiful guitars [Bb] real cannons.
These have the cool to preamp [D] system in them, which is our most popular preamp system
Of [G] course, it's [N] a really really great sounding pickup system.
And of course our our palathetic pickup under under saddle
You know how athletic pickup is isn't heralded industry-wide for being a really great natural [Gb] sounding pickup system
And it's [Eb] proprietary to all talking mini guitars _
So as you know every [Db] year talking meanie has what they call the LTD series [C] or the limited series [B] each year
They do a really special guitar or a couple of special guitars to put out there in limited quantities
With really [E] ornate artistry and inlay work
Going on it's been a tradition for [N] many years with talking meaning and of course this year's no exception here one of my hands
I'm holding the LTD
2013 se it's se for special edition as you see there has some really intricate inlay work along the fingerboard
[B] This has a what they call the peak
So it's a mountain climbing theme [Gb] and the peak as a [G] philosophy of continuous improvement
So as this is talking me these [C] 51st year in business, we're only making 51 of these globally will be available [N] and _
It represents the peak of their artistry and their craft [Bb] and the fact that they are continuously trying to improve that
so this guitar [B] a solid bear claw spruce top has a
Spalted [B] maple and coca-cola rosette, which is beautiful.
And of course the flame maple binding and the beautiful solid [F] koa back and sides
[Gb] _
[C] Absolutely gorgeous and this [Bm] is this body style is our what we call our New [B] Yorker body style like a parlor and
_ This is a 12 [A] fret version.
Just sounds amazing with the koa and the spruce
And as you see the [G] the motif goes all the way up the fingerboard and up onto the headstock as well _ _
_ [Em] Beautiful I love the inlay with a [G] carabiner.
Yeah _
_ [Em] _ [D] Great great guitar.
It sounds [B] fantastic [C] as well.
It was a street [B] pride on the street price on these
[C] Somewhere around a little [D] under $4,000.
Okay, [Bb] _ and then as another part of the series
_ [B] We've got this is [Cm] the LTD [B] 2013 the standard model a little [B] less expensive than than the one we just had
It's gonna be 300 of these made for the world and you guys you can see it still has the the cool
[D] _ [Eb] Climber motif on it a little less ornate than the [B] other one
So a little [Bm] bit more simple.
This has a solid spruce top with solids of Bailey back and sides _ _ _
_ CT 4b to pick up system preamp system _
_ _ [N] _ _ _ and of course
Nice, I've right binding package with some wood purpling _
Mother Pro Rose ads and of course all the great inlay work.
So 300 of these 51 of the the SE edition
So this is the LTD 2013 from Takamine
