Hi, I'm Corey Witt [E] with Taylor Guitars, NAMM [Am] 2014, with Flow Guitar [Bb] Enthusiasts.
What I'm [Am] holding right now is the T5Z.
You [A] may remember that in 2005 we [F] came out with a T5, the original T5, and it was a [C] hybrid
acoustic electric guitar.
At the time it was [G] the best [C]-selling semi-hollow guitar in the universe that had that kind
of hybrid thing.
Taylor [N] absolutely pioneered that universe in making a guitar that was fully electric
and fully acoustic at the same time.
That year it won electric guitar of the year and it won acoustic guitar of the year.
It won awards from almost every publication out there and all of the conventions, trade
shows, stuff like that.
People were crazy about the T5.
We've now [G] [E] updated the T5.
We still sell the standard T5, but now we came out with a T5Z.
The rationale behind that was to [D] make it a little bit more friendly to people who are
[E] familiar with their electric guitars.
You'll see that the body has been shrunken down ever so [Eb] slightly, so it makes it feel
a little bit more like a conventional electric guitar shape.
We've also given you a 12-inch radius on the fretboard, which is a little bit more round,
which again [D] will be familiar to electric guitar players.
Then we have [Gb] larger fret wire.
So jumbo frets make [B] it easier for bending, make it [Gb] easier for a little bit more of the electric playing.
Again, you'll pick up that I've said a few times now, [Am] this will be way more [A] familiar
to electric guitar [Bb] players.
It still has all of the functionality and all [G] the goodness of the original T5, but [Bb] it
feels a little bit more [Em] nimble.
That's the T5Z.
It's available [Ab] in the exotic [Bb] hardwood tops.
It's available in the spruce top.
[G] It's available in [E]
the trimmed down, a [F] little bit more budget [Gb]-friendly classic version.
[G] This is the T5Z.
[E] I'm Corey Witt.
It's NAMM 2014 [D] at Taylor Guitars.
