[G] Yes.
[F#] [G]
Right.
Yes.
What else can we expect?
Well, we're going into the studio when we finish [G#] this tour.
We go home for a day, then we go out to Prague to tour again.
to play a gig with Ozzy and then we go straight into the studio for six weeks to do a new
album.
So looking forward to that.
What about any titles?
Well we don't have any titles, no.
That's always the last thing we think of is the title
of the album.
We're really poor at picking titles.
But I'm sure we'll think of something.
Probably something clever like The New Nazareth Album.
What [G]
[N]
do you do in the studio?
We do a lot of production together like bass, drums and guitar together so that it's got
that feel about it.
And a guide vocal.
And then we do overdubs obviously.
Jimmy does
his lead parts and I'll do the real vocal.
But we try to get it to sound as live as we
can.
We don't want to do millions of overdubs because eventually you have to go out and
play it.
So you want it to sound like you really played it.
So that's kind of what we
do.
But I'm sure everybody does it different.
There's different ways of doing it.
But that's
how we like to work.
And the models who play and stuff like that?
We did a lot of stuff that we never used because it was just too much.
It was like that's an
overdub obviously.
So we tried to make it sound like it was just a band playing.
And
I think we succeeded quite well really.
What do you think of the music scene in Scotland?
The music scene in Scotland is pretty healthy at the moment actually.
There's a lot of pop
guitar driven bands coming out.
The Killers and things like that.
It's poppy but it's
kind of okay.
And I think the kids that are doing it seem to be enjoying it as opposed
to being a boy band or something.
Something that's unnatural.
It's something they're enjoying
doing.
And there's quite a few.
And they're doing very well a lot of them which is great.
And I think you just see it.
I've heard you talk about it.
Aye I mean when I'm at home I listen to the radio in the car.
And I try to find the station
that's not playing the same five records every day all day.
And it's quite good because we've
got a station at home called BBC Two.
BBC One is the pop station.
BBC Two is good.
They'll
play The Eagles and Radiohead and things like that.
And different stuff.
Which is, that's
what I kind of like.
You like a variety.
You're just listening in the car.
But most of the
music I get I go out and buy anyway.
I'm a big music fan so if I read about something
I'll go and check it out.
What about Pete Leakey?
Well Pete likes, Pete's not got a wide taste in music actually.
But you can turn him on
to stuff.
The last album I turned him on to was the Kings of Leon.
The previous album.
And I went these guys are really good.
I've been telling you that for years Pete.
But
I mean it was a really good album.
But Pete's not adventurous.
He's adventurous with his
own music.
But when he likes to relax he likes to listen to things that he likes.
Like Little
Feet and Led Zeppelin and people that he really enjoys.
James Taylor and things like that.
So that's his form of relaxation I guess.
Like I say I've not really heard anything recently that I'm really crazy about.
I mean
I'm really not.
It's all about.
You get it tired?
No I just think it's kind of formulated a lot of the music now.
And the only.
Like music
used to be an audio thing.
You used to have to listen to it.
But now it's not.
It's a
visual thing.
So I mean unless you're as beautiful as Beyonce.
Forget about it.
Or Lady Gaga
or something like that.
No it's true though.
I mean it's like they spend so much money
man on doing these videos.
And they're great.
God bless these kids.
I mean they know what
they're doing.
And they're on.
They work hard.
They're on the pulse.
I'm not slagging them
by any means.
But it's just not my cup of tea.
You know what I mean.
It's a bit sort
of planned and unnatural somehow.
I don't know.
It doesn't appeal to me very much.
But
I mean good on them.
You know the rest of the world doesn't agree with me.
So that's OK.
You have [A] a snogged voice or something like that?
Somebody said that about me.
[G] How would you [N] describe your voice now?
I don't.
I just.
It's just how I sing.
It's just a natural thing.
I mean it's just.
I
guess I was just lucky.
You know what I mean.
I don't worry about it at all.
And probably we're on the first place.
Well because we're Scottish.
You know.
And it's.
We're Scottish.
And it's part of your
And we thought people would find it sort of amusing.
We did it.
You know.
They're taking
the piss.
Yes of course we are.
You know what I mean.
Like I say.
It's not serious.
It's
just.
It's just.
It's just something that will give the audience a laugh.
You know.
Do you play the pipe?
Oh no.
It's not that many.
I mean it's a very very hard thing to learn to play it properly.
You know.
I can't play it properly.
I mean it's like.
It's like.
If you're going to be
a piper it's a lot of work.
I mean it really is.
Difficult to do.
But every country's got
pipes.
I mean Russia's got pipes.
Greece's got pipes.
There's pipes everywhere.
You know.
What can I tell you.
People like drinking pipes for some reason.
OK.
Thank you very much.
OK.
I'm afraid our time is running out.
Thank you very much.
You're very welcome guys.
Thanks very much.
Cheers.
Thank you.
Cheers Alex.
Can you please say some words to the audience.
What's infection?
Music infection.
Music infection?
Yeah.
OK.
Hi.
I'm Dan McCaffrey.
I'm with the rock band Nazareth.
And you are watching Music
Infection.
