Oh, glory [G]

[F] until
[Gm] [F] my wrath and [Cm] [Bb] soul shall find,
[B] I'm gonna find [F] rest
[G] [C] beyond.
Oh, [Em] hallelujah.
The [C] [Bb]
[C] [F] river, [Ab] this [Db] verse, [Gb]
near [Abm] the [Gb]
cross I [B] will watch and I will wait, [Ab] hoping, [Gb]
[Bb] [Ebm] trusting ever,
ever, [Ab]
[Db]
till [B] I reach, come on, sing [Db] it, [Gb] until [Db] I [Gb] reach my money, that [B] [B] golden stream.
Just beyond the [C] river.
[Gb] [Ebm]
Just [Db] beyond the [B] river.
[Gb] Sing it, everybody in the cross.
I'm in the
[B] cross.
In the cross [C]
[Gb] be [Ebm] my [Ab] glory ever.
Oh,
[Abm] [Bb]
raptured [Ebm] soul.
Till [Eb]
my [Gb]
[B] raptured soul shall find rest.
Just think about it, [C] you're gonna [Gb] find rest.
[Ebm]
[Db] Just beyond the [Ebm] river.
[Eb] Just beyond the river.
[Gb] In the cross, yeah.
In the cross.
[Bb] Yeah.
[B] In [Eb] the cross.
[Cm]
[Gb] [Bb]
[Ebm]
[Ab] Oh, Lord Jesus.
[F] Till my [Ebm] raptured soul, till [F] my raptured [Gb] soul, one of these sanctified [B] days, shall find,
I'm gonna [Ab] find [Gb] rest [Ebm]
[Db] beyond [F]
[B] the [Ab] [D] river.
[Bb] Oh, yes, [Abm] I'm gonna find [Ab] rest.
Say it.
Be, [Db] declared, declared in the name of [Bb] Jesus.
From all your [Bb] toils and all your hard [Ebm] work.
[Ab]
[Gb] [Ebm]
[Db] [Gb]
[Bb] [C] [D]
Wade your [Ab] sorrows, goodbye, and [Gb] say rest [Ab]
[Db] beyond [B]
the [C] river.
[D]
[Ebm] Every [Ab] time you sing that song, you usually think about a funeral.
Most [Db] of you, you've got that on your mind right now.
Probably heard at the [Eb] last funeral you went, [Db]
[Gb] somebody you loved died.
[Db]
[Gb] You wish you could have told them just one more time.
I think of [Gb]
people [B] releasing their loved ones.
It's sorrow, but it's a [C]
sweet [Gb] sorrow because we know there's [Bb] rest.
[Ebm] The Bible says, blessed are the dead who die in the Lord for [Ab] henceforth now and forevermore.
They rest from their [Ebm] labor, [Db] but their works follow them.
[Gb] They rest from their toil.
They [Eb] rest from their [Gb] sweat, but their works follow them.
In other [Ab] words, whatever they were working [B] on follows them into the presence of God.
And they go into that great cloud of [C] witnesses.
[Gb] Hand us the baton.
And I [Db] think they do something on the other side for us on this earth that they couldn't
have [F] done for us [Ab] while they were here.
[D]
[Ebm] Can't you see a mother [Ab] rocking her little baby, almost lifeless body?
The [Db] doctor said, she's really brain [F] dead.
There's nothing we can do.
And the mama [Ebm] says, can I just hold her one more time, [Ab] please, before you take her?
[Gb] Tears are burning [Ab] down her cheeks.
[Db] And her only [Fm] consolation is to know [Bb] that that [F] baby who has laboriously [Ebm] breathed and struggled
for her last [Ab] breath now is finding [Gb] rest [Ab] beyond the river.
[Db] I don't know how I could face death without knowing there's [Bb] rest beyond the river.
[C] [D] I've had the [Ebm] [Abm] fascinating [Db] experience, however, sorrowful to be in the hospital [Ab] at the bedside
[Db] and watch loved ones pass away or members of my [Bb] congregation.
[F] I've been called just in time to see them [Ebm] laying [Abm] there [Gb] with their eyes as if they were
looking [Ab]
out the window [Db] right through me [Abm] or sometimes at the foot of the bed.
It's almost as if [Dm] they were seeing [Bbm] Jesus or maybe [Ab] some loved one that had gone [Db] on ahead.
Maybe the life support systems were still [Abm]
sounding and [Bb] the little [F] tiny beep of [Fm] a heart going.
[Ebm] Then [Db] after a while it flatlined [Ab] and they found [Gb] rest [Ebm] just beyond the river.
[Db] A little tear trickles down that [D] face [Eb] [D] and you want to say [Eb] goodbye, mama, [Ebm] goodbye, [Ab] daddy.
[Gb] I love you.
But they're not looking at [Ab] you.
They won't even [Db] change their eyes.
It's as if their [F] focus has put them [Ab] already in the other, in the presence of the Lord.
[D]
[Ebm] And you just have to give your [Ab] hands up and say, Lord, [Gb] rest.
[Ab] Oh, hallelujah.
[Db] Beyond that river.
[Bb] Come on, sing it.
Goodbye, [Ab] mama, goodbye, daddy.
[Bbm] Goodbye, little boy.
Goodbye, [Dbm] little son of a gun.
Fire [Gb] it.
Oh, hallelujah.

[Db] Beyond.
You're serving for 20 [B] years, 40 years, [C] 50 years.

sounding and [Bb] the little [F] tiny beep of [Fm] a heart going.
[Ebm] Then [Db] after a while it flatlined [Ab] and they found [Gb] rest _ [Ebm] just beyond the river.
[Db] A little tear trickles down that [D] face [Eb] _ [D] and you want to say [Eb] goodbye, mama, [Ebm] goodbye, [Ab] daddy.
[Gb] I love you.
But they're not looking at [Ab] you.
They won't even [Db] change their eyes.
It's as if their [F] focus has put them [Ab] already in the other, in the presence of the Lord.
[D] _
[Ebm] And you just have to give your [Ab] hands up and say, Lord, [Gb] rest.
[Ab] Oh, hallelujah. _
[Db] _ Beyond that river.
[Bb] Come on, sing _ it.
Goodbye, [Ab] mama, goodbye, daddy. _
[Bbm] Goodbye, little boy.
Goodbye, [Dbm] little son of a gun.
Fire [Gb] it.
Oh, hallelujah.
[Ab] _ _
[Db] Beyond.
You're serving for 20 [B] years, 40 years, [C] 50 years.
[D] And [Fm]
oh, _ [Gb] I'm going to find rest.
_ _ _ _ [Db] _
_ _ _ Beyond that _ [B] _ _ [Db] _ _
[Gb] river. _ _ _ _ _
