Hi, welcome to Amy Nolte Music.
There are these kids in a middle school that I play for and they're singing
Sweet Home Chicago in their choir
Hi girls, if anybody's watching and I'm playing this boogie woogie part for them
And I realized that it wouldn't be very hard to teach so I'm totally gonna teach it to you
There's not much to it.
You got a left hand that does boogie [E] woogie
Don't don't don't don't don't don't do it.
I'm gonna show it [G] to you and then you've got a right hand that kind of fits together
really nicely and
If you watch it close and enough times you're gonna be able to play a blues [B] in this style
It's kind of a boogie shuffle.
I guess I'll call it boogie shuffle
This is how the form of the blues goes this blues.
We've got one bar of G one bar of C
Two more bars of G all of these are actually seven chords, but I'm not gonna worry about it
Then for our second four bars, we've got one bar of C
Now two bars of C and then two bars of G.
All right, and for the last four bars, we've got
one bar of D
one bar of C two bars of G
Let's see how it sounds.
All right.
This is how it goes.
The left hand is very simple [G]
[Bbm] like [C] that
we switch
Then we [G] go back.
[C] Go back to C.
So we're on G and C so far
And then [G] we're back to G
It's just a blues
[D] Then we're at D
[C] C
And back to [G] G
There we go
[D]
Just octave D's right [B] hand.
It's a little more tricky goes like this
[Eb] [G]
[Cm] [G] [Eb] [C]
[G]
[Cm] [G] [C]
[G] [C] [Eb] [G] [Cm]
[B] Here's how it [Cm] fits together
[G] You
[C] [Gm] [G] [C] [Gm] [G]
[C] [Gm] [G] [C]
[E] [G] [C] [Gm] [G]
[C] [Gm] [G] [C] [G]
[C] [G] [C] [G] [C] [G]
really want to [C] accent them?
[Eb] It's like ba da ba da with your right.
I [C] see
[Gm] [G] Do [C] [G] [C] [G] [C]
[G] you hear the triplet [D] one two three?
[C]
[G] [C] [G] [C] It really makes it swing hard
[E] [G] [C] [G] [C] [G]
Then we [C] switch
[F] [C] [F]
[C] [F] [Cm] [C] [F] [G] [C] [G]
[C] [G] [C] [Dm]
[D] [G]
[Dm] [G] [D] [G] [Dm] like that
So this [Gb] is this one.
[E] You're not sliding you're [Dm] using a one two
[G]
All [D] [G] [Em] [B]
[C] [F] [Cm] [C] [F] [C] [G] [C]
[G] [Em] [D] [G]
right.
Let's try it with some singing.
We'll get the full effect
[C] [F]
[G] [C] [G] [C] [G]
[C] [F] [Cm]
[G] [C] [G] [C] [G]
[D] [G] [D] [G]
[C] [F] [C] [G]
[D] That's all you have to do to start over remember just an octave [Eb] D7 chord and you're right back in
[G]
[C] [G] All right.
Thanks everybody.
We'll see you next time

[C] [Gm] [G] [C] [Gm] [G]
[C] [Gm] [G] [C]
[E] [G] [C] [Gm] [G]
[C] [Gm] [G] [C] [G]

[C] [G] [C] [Dm]
