What's up, welcome back to the channel, my name is Sam Sabita, let's make beats!
So Illmind just sent me his newest drum kit, Blapkid's 12, so I thought we would, you know, make a beat out of it.
Normally I wouldn't do this, but he's like super famous, so
Yeah, but don't tell him that.
Oh, these are weird.
Okay, here we go.
Oh, these are so weird.
Oh, we're gonna make something weird today.
I've been doing a lot of multiple kicks on my beats nowadays, you know, one clean one and then one kind of weird one.
This is a weird one, let's keep that.
This is kind of a clean one.
Just hearing like a super swingy neck breaker.
So I need a lot of swing on that.
Yeah, there we go.
Fine pitch, like a
Great.
Not too much though.
Maybe a rib.
This one.
Oh, I do this if I want to get like a bit more warmth out of the drums.
RC-20 has a really good tube saturation.
Gotta have these going up too.
Just gives it more mid presence.
Just a little bit.
Maybe a little bit of this.
Oh, [Ab] this one needs EQ.
Then bring it back into it.
[B]
Oh, this is 88.
[G] Yeah, let's do this one.
So you start with the hi-hats by itself.
You don't know the swing is coming in yet.
[D] Ew. Oh.
[Ab] [Am] Why is this an automatic hit?
What the hell is going on?
[Dm] Oh man.
[D] This is good too.
[Ab]
This is so smooth.
This is completely different.
[Gm]
[Ab] Gosh, it's a living room adventure.
Another day on the couch.
Another day on the couch.
It's a living room adventure.
And another day in the basement.
So that's a living room adventure.
[G] Another day in the basement.
Fueling up the engine.
Blah, blah, blah, blah.
Moving to a new direction.
[Ab]
Moving with intention.
Moving through dimensions.
Another day on the couch.
It's a living room adventure.
Another day in [Gm] the basement.
Fueling up the engine.
[Abm] Take the wheel, zoom.
Moving to a new direction.
Are we writing?
Are we going to make something?
I need to write more songs.
What I'm going to do is try to write a bunch of this on my own.
Yeah, I don't have the battery life for that.
Later.
So it's been two days.
I finished the songwriting.
It ended up becoming more of like a freestyle format.
There's not really a verse or a hook.
We're just kind of saying stuff.
Right now, the beat is [G] a bit too simple.
I think the drums are OK.
I just want to expand on the loop a bit more so it's not as boring.
So the way I hear the song in my head is just kind of like a slow build.
Start simple at the beginning and then slowly as we go forward,
we increase energy and complexity and blah, blah, blah, blah.
I'm thinking we don't have a bass until here.
And then we just have like this big, warm, subby tone.
[Ab] Twice.
While everybody's racing, chasing placements.
I'm here building a foundation.
Strong as pavement.
And to everybody.
[Bb]
[Cm] [Db] [Gb] [Db]
[Db] [Ebm] Take 97.
[Ab]
[Gm]
[Ab]
[Gm]
[Ab]
Good enough.
Yes.
That one took so long.
The rapping ends there.
I want to put the piano back.
Just take out the drums.
Just do this nice, beautiful outro interlude thing.
[Cm] Where is that?
I need that nice synthy trillian [Ab] bass.
Well, well, [Bb] well, well, [N] well.
[Ab] [Eb]
[Gm]
[Dm] [Ab]
[Gm]
[Ab]
Uh.
That's clean.
I'm going to bring the attack up a bit.
[Gm] Oh, that's so nice.
[Ab] Bam.
[Gm] I think I can do a little background vocals.
Just super, super in the back.
[D] [Ab]
I'm just going to go to the variation knob.
And just even it out slightly.
It doesn't have to be that great.
Cause I'm going to put a bunch of reverb on it.
[Gm]
[Ab] Get a nice blend going.
[Gm]
Yeah.
I think we pretty [Ab] much got it.
[Gm]
[B] [Ab]
[G] [Gm] [E] [N]
[Ab] Mix with the test of time.
And these [Gm] hands might break without a change of pace.
[Eb] We are so grateful, but never satisfied.
[G] Now this one [Eb] dark corner where I make my beats are in the same four walls
within where I sleep and the same four walls are hitting mentally.
[Ab] Life is way too much.
Your rinse and repeat is getting to me.
It's hard to oppose.
I'm scared to plateau.
The passion is high, but the [Gm] spirit is low.
I really don't know what [Bb] the future has in store.
Keep my [F] head down.
See how the cause will [N] unfold.
