What's up y'all?
I'm [Eb] Nick West and today we're [G] checking out the American Professional [Ab] Jazz Bass.
[G] So come check it out with me.
[Eb] [D]
[Eb]
[G] First [Ab] thing I want to talk about are the V [G]-Mod pickups.
It [Ab] kind of gives you that [G] vintage Fender classic tone [Eb] with the growl and clarity.
[G] You can hear the high ends and the low ends.
So that's something that's really cool.
[D] So you turn [Eb] up the bass and you turn down the treble and you get that [G] really [F] bassy growl tone.
[G]
[C]
[G] [F] [B]
[Dm] [F]
[G] [E]
[F] [Gb]
[N] Another cool feature about this bass is the neck.
It has a slim C neck meaning you can move across this neck a lot faster than you can
most other basses.
It means a lot faster.
I have really small hands and it really helps not to get so tired when you're on tour for
five weeks at a time.
It also has narrow tall frets.
So when I slap the bass, the tall frets give it a really aggressive sound.
[E]
[B] [G]
[Gb]
[Em]
And that's the main thing about frets and slapping the bass is you want to hear those frets.
Okay, so something really subtle but still very helpful are the tuners.
So they're new, they're different.
They're called fluted tuners.
And [E] what it does is it gives it a better angle, a lower angle over [F] the nut, which is really
cool because sometimes I opt not to play the [E] open strings because I get a rattle most of
the time or something that's [Db] not as stable.
But now I can get more of a stable sound, [N] something that has more resonance and better tone.
One of the more obvious features is the high mass vintage bridge.
And what it does is it makes sure that when you're playing your bass or [E] slapping it or
just hitting your notes, [Eb] you have a lot of great sustain, stability and sustain.
That's a major thing for me.
If I go to the store and I pick out a bass, I want to be able to take it out of the box
and play it without having to modify it, without having to change the bridge.
Just be able to play it right out of the box.
And this bass, you can [D] definitely do that.
The PosiFlex [E] Graphite Rods help the neck keep its shape.
You won't notice that it's there, but you'll really appreciate it.
