Normans' Rare Guitars - Guitar of the Day: 1962 Fender Jaguar chords
Start Jamming...
Hey, Mark Agnese here again in the back room at Norman's Rare Guitars.
Once again it's time for Guitar of the Day.
It's Thursday, [A] 13th of October.
Everybody seemed to like that strip Jazzmaster yesterday, so I [N] figured we'll stay on that
same kind of tip here until Norman gets back with some new stuff to show you guys.
Why don't you guys come back?
I've got a pretty [A] cool one for you guys today.
[Bb] This thing's from 1962.
This is an original Fender Jaguar, but this thing has been refinished in sea foam green,
which is pretty cool.
It's had a couple other things done to it as well.
This is again like we were talking yesterday.
This is a player grade guitar, but this has got some cool stuff done to it.
So yeah, it was refinned in sea foam green.
This mint green guard's not original.
This is a repro guard.
It's been [C] refretted [Bb] as well, which a lot of people who like to play these things would
actually consider that an upgrade.
It's refretted with a nice big tall fret on here, so this thing plays great.
There's a lot of meat on it.
This tremolo arm is also not original.
It's a repro arm and of course it comes in a non-original tweed case.
But we were just back inside this thing, opened it up.
Everything is straight on this guitar now.
Original pots, original pickups, switches, original wood, next original finish.
Just the body had the refin [E] on it.
Tuners are right.
[Bb] So it's a pretty cool player grade thing.
Normally I don't talk prices in these videos, but on this one in particular, we have this
guitar tagged at $2399, which is the exact same price as a brand new American vintage reissue guitar.
That being said, I think this is a whole hell of a lot cooler than one of those.
No offense to the reissues, but for the same kind of price, I'd go with the old wood and
the old pickups.
I don't know about you guys.
Hey, how about we go out front and plug it in and see what kind of sounds we get out
of this thing.
[Gb] Alright, we're out front here.
We've got the 1962 Fender Jaguar, refinished in seafoam green.
We got it plugged up into a stock 410 Hotrod DeVille.
All the EQs at noon, just a little bit of reverb.
We're going to bypass the rhythm circuit here today.
We're going to just go down to the lead circuit.
Let's start on the neck pickup and see what kind of sounds we can get out of this thing.

of that thing.

Moving on again, let's turn both pickups on and see what we can get [Ab] out of the full range
of this thing.
We're going to go a little bit of clean, a little bit of dirty, and let you guys hear
the combination of [G] these pickups together.

Hey, if you're going to buy a re-fin, you might as well be in a cool ass color.
This one's in seafoam green.
It's been re-fretted, re-finished.
It's got a new pickguard on there.
It comes with an older reissued case.
But hey man, it's the same exact price as a reissued Jag.
Why would you buy a new one when you could buy an old one?
This one's tagged at $2399.
First guy to call me gets it.
All [Bb] right?
Start [Ab] calling now.
Hey, check me out online on Instagram at Mark Agnese.
Check out the store at NormansRareGuitars.

We'll see you guys again [Bb] tomorrow for another episode of Guitar of the Day.
Flap Friday!
[G] See you then.
