we were carrying a load on our shoulders we were chained and we were running through dark alleys
doubt and fear and that's really all of us that's really all of humanity
we're all burdened by the load of sin the bible says that there's none who does what is good
not even one _ all of humanity is burdened by sin they're chained to [A#] it they're enslaved to it
and they're in darkness and [C#] that is all of us on the outside [G#] of Christ
and the good news of the son and this takes us back [C] to the cross
remember you saw the cross by the river there the good news is Jesus Christ the son of God
[F#] came down to earth to pay for our [G#] fines in his life's blood
[N] the bible says that he who knew no sin Jesus Christ became sin for us
he paid our fines and all the wrath meant for me who breaking God's law was placed on Jesus Christ
and after he died three days later he rose again from the dead
and he's seated at the right hand of God and he's coming back to judge the world
so that is incredible good news we're all helplessly burdened with sin
but Jesus Christ paid our fines so we got to go back to the cross
and lay our burdens down and we can only find freedom in Jesus Christ
so I encourage you to turn from your sin forsake your sin lay it down
and put your trust in Jesus Christ and if you do that Jesus Christ will give you a new heart
and he desires that you have a new life

this is Jesus speaking
on [D#m] the last day of the feast the great day Jesus stood up and [N] cried out
anyone thirst let him come to me and drink
whoever believes in me as the scripture has said out of his heart will flow rivers of living water
now he said this about the spirit whom those who believe in him were to receive
_ _ and another powerful imagery in this song is the river we're singing by
beautiful image of living water
Jesus promises if you come to him you believe in him
_ out of your heart will flow a river of living water
springing up to eternal life and that's the spirit he'll give you
I just want to encourage you to come to Jesus for life
true life and he's the only one who can give it to you
and he's the only one who can take the burdens from you
