What do you want to know?
My name is Glenn Evans,
and I'm from the band Nuclear Assault.
And I've been with them since 1985, [Abm] 30 years.
Well, I was more a rock and roll drummer.
I grew up, you know, basically listening to The Beatles
and Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith.
[N] And then I saw Kiss and I was like,
well, that's pretty cool.
I like to do that, you know.
As I was growing up and then ACDC, da, da, da.
[Gb] And then, [Eb]
you know, [Gb] so I got a lot of Phil Rudd in me
and I got a lot of [Ab] Aerosmith.
[D] As I got older, I was exposed to, you know,
the heavier music and then I started listening to Kiss.
[B] Like,
[Gb] I love Peter Criss.
[A] His drum solos are really cool.
All right, I got a question for [Ab] you.
[Bb] You know, and then Judas Priest.
[Bbm] [N] You need to do this with me, man.
So like a lot of Judas Priest came into my style and shit.
But like I said, when I got to Nuclear Assault,
it was just a combination of all this crap
that came together.
So what you're hearing on drums,
it's just a combination of everything I've learned
over the years.
I've been playing for 50 years since I was a kid.
When I hit, you know, it's not like,
I make it count.
I hate drummers that like,
you know, that's fucking gay to me.
So, I mean, no, nothing against gay people.
As far as doing a snare shot,
always hear me doing rim shots.
I want people to hear that [A] shit.
[B]
You know what I mean?
So you make every shot count.
Of course, there's the lighter stuff too.
But Nuclear Assault doesn't do too much lighter stuff.
But I don't use double pedals because they [N] just don't,
they're too soft for me.
I like it a lot.
I like to have, I have two hands.
I wanna use two feet.
Because one's always gonna be the lighter sound.
You know what I mean?
So if you have two that are going the same impact,
and that's why I use woodblock beaters
because they punch the drums louder.
I like it really hard, like.
[G] And then just hope for the best when it's showtime.
That's all.
And then if you see a big crowd,
you just kind of ignore it,
but be aware of them.
You're playing to them.
Don't try to please yourself.
You know, when I,
well I'm [E] like, [D]
I'm [B] trying to show them where that kick is.
[Gb] [Ab]
[N] A lot of people don't have rhythm.
I'm not like a, I don't twirl sticks
and throw them up in the air and do all kinds of shit.
I just play the drums.
[C] [D]
You know, I'd show off [Ab] shit when I was in a drum and buko.
I don't do that anymore.
So now it's just like.
[D]
Yeah, right.
I'm tired.
Cut.
Anyway.
