OH WOW!| FIRST TIME HEARING Joe Cocker & Jennifer Warnes -Up Where We Belong REACTION chords
Start Jamming...
You guys [F] [G] [N] know I love a good duet and this has one of my favorite male vocalists in it.
I can't wait to see what he's going to give us today and what his duet partner is going
to bring as well.
If you're new here, you're at Rob's Squad Reactions with your girl Amber.
And your boy Jay.
It's one of those pure, raw voices.
You know, mom loves Janis Joplin and to me I feel like this is like the male version of Janis.
Let's go ahead and tell them who we got.
Hey guys, listen to Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warrens and the song is Up Where We Belong.
When we were pulling it up, it's obviously from a movie, Officer and Gentleman.
We decided not to do that clip because we might, [Ab] just in case we decide to watch that
on the movie channel one day.
So we are [Eb] going to watch the lyric version of this one.
If you are new to the channel though, hey, please help us out by liking this video, subscribing
to the channel and turning on that post notification bell so you never miss anything we got going on.
We don't drop one or two videos a day, we drop three every single day.
We got a slogan, we got to give the people what they want.
Y'all wanted some more Joe Cocker, y'all got it.
Up Where We Belong, let's check it out.

[D] [G] [Gm] [D]
[G] [E] [D]
[G] [Em]
[A] [D] I'm just in [G] our way.
[C] But we climb a stair [A] every day.
[D] The lift is up where we [G] belong.
[Em] Revered eagles [D] cry [C] on a mountain [G] high.
[D] The lift is up where we [G] belong.
Life [Em] in the world [D] below, a [Gb] panickly wind is [Bm] blowing.
[D]
[G] [E] [D] Some hang [G] on to each defeat, [E] [D] live their life looking behind.
[E] [D] All we have [G] is here [E] and now.
All [D] our lives, [G] [Em] they're all.
[N] They pair so well because Jennifer warns her voice is so pure, it's so sharp and it's just this delicate.
I love her voice.
And then you got Joe who comes in with, you know, the more depth, the scratchy gravelly
rawness that he has.
The rasp raw.
So like when they sing together in that harmony, it just matches so, so well.
Oh, for sure.
And it kind of shows like the two different people in the relationship so well.
You have such an authentic voice like Joe's that you feel like carries so much rawness and realness.
And then you have a voice like hers that is so delicate and it feels so real.
So just by listening to it, you definitely feel like you're listening to like a beautiful
partnership, a beautiful love story.
They're selling it so well.
But Joe Cogger's voice, like it's just whenever I hear it, I just absolutely adore it.
And it's kind of like, maybe it's like the Louis Armstrong effect for me.
It's just because they do have such unique raw voices that I absolutely love them and
can't think about anything else when I hear them.
Oh, no, I'm 100% right there with you.
It's just when you know, when you listen to Joe Cogger, you know exactly what you're
going to get.
And that's the thing we love.
His voice is one of the best, you know, pure raw voice.
Yeah, for sure.
And I love that because a lot of times with the Janice and the Joe's with that raw voice,
I feel like sometimes they can just get out of control.
And that's what you love about it is that they're so in the moment.
But in this one, it being slower and toned down, I love that we get to see Joe just,
you know, at it more of an easy way of singing, you know?
[Em] [A]

[Cm] [Eb] [Ab]
[Fm] [Eb] When they went into that part where he said, you know, they lift us up and the bar is so
back and joy like that is [N] feel like a moment of soaring.
Oh, you're soaring to the heavens through the clouds in the sky.
I really, really enjoyed that.
And I think the story feeling a lot of it comes from the setup that comes right before
that the drum hit right before they come together.
It's a really powerful moment.
Lord lift us up where we belong, where the eagles cry something mountain high, beautiful
lyrics, but that part right there alone was such a just like a moment.
It was astonishing.
But I my favorite part is the pairing of their voices.
Oh, no doubt.
They they mix so well.
And guys, [B] I'm glad we got back to Joe Cocker.
But when Jim or God, I can't think of her name now, something warrants Jennifer Warrens.
We need to get her solo as well because her voice was [G] so, so pure.
It was so beautiful.
And it is a name that we haven't heard before.
And I do know this was for a soundtrack of a movie.
[N] I don't know if maybe she's acting in the movie or, you know, she was just part of the soundtrack.
But regardless, this duet with Joe has made me really interested to learn a little bit
more about her side, her voice.
She added a lot to the song.
The song needed that delicate like because his voice is so gruff.
I love that she was able to bring that delicate light side in to kind of carry the masculine
energy that Joe can carry for sure.
But guys, thank you so, so much for that suggestion.
As we always send you out of here.
We love you.
We thank you.
We appreciate you.
And remember, every single day that you wake up, guys, it is a blessing and that you are blessed.
And for your new family members, hit that subscribe button.
We welcome you all to the RSR family.
But you all will go every day just like we do.
Let them know.
Guys, you've got to make somebody smile.

Until next time, we'll see you all later.
