Old 97's - Good with God (Official Video - ft. Fred Armisen & Jenna Fischer) chords
Start Jamming...
Yeah, I don't know man.
This is so full of dude.
Okay guys, listen.
Any word from the drummer?
Nope.
Okay, we gotta get started on this.
We're just gonna have this guy sit in.
This is, uh, what's your name?
Fred.
Fred, yeah.
He's just gonna sit [Abm] in the back and sort of pretend he's the drummer.
Do you play drums?
[N] I think so.
[B]
Let's roll.
[Eb] [C]
[Ab] [Eb] Hey, I'm Jenna Fisher and you're watching An [Db] Hour in 60 [B] Minutes.
Today my guests are the Old 97s.
[Bb] Hi, Jenna.
How are you?
Hey guys!
Thanks for joining me.
Thanks for having us.
No place better to be.
So, first of all, tell me where are you guys from?
We're from Texas.
We're from Dallas.
We don't all still live there, but we started in Texas 24 years ago.
Wow!
Feels almost like it's been 24 years.
[G] Yeah.
It has been 24.
Well, I'm really excited about your [Bb] new album, Graveyard Whistling.
Thank you.
Can you tell me a little bit about how this album came to fruition?
The last record most messed up was kind of a wheels-off account of [N]
life as a musician, life on the road.
Life touring, being a musician, loading in, loading out, dealing with promoters.
Where do you pull up the van or the bus or whatever?
Yeah, that's the last album.
And this album.
So this record is like the aftermath of that, if you will.
Yeah, like where is the vehicle now?
Who showed up to the shows?
Okay.
There were some great people.
We had tall people, you know, medium, shorter, all kinds.
Do we need to make a change?
I don't know if I can do this.
I'm sorry, guys.
Fred, don't talk.
Let's not talk.
I know.
I was just trying to be like a band member so that it seems like I'm part of the band.
So when people are watching, I'm not the director.
You know how you look like a band member?
Just look like a band member.
Yeah, Philip never says anything.
I think again, when-
I realize what I'm doing.
The problem is, as it's happening, it feels like I can't control it.
It's not that I'm not aware.
I hate it.
Okay.
[Abm] Thank you.
Okay.
I [Eb] want to hear a little bit about writing this song, Good With God.
Good With God.
I wrote that-
With Brandi Carlile.
With Brandi Carlile.
Amazing.
What was it like to work with her?
Brandi Carlile has the voice of God.
She's 71 years old.
Hey, Fred.
I'm only wanting Rhett to be the voice in the room right now.
You got it.
Thank you.
Rhett, she only wants you to talk.
You represent the band.
So this is the time when we're going to have your voice to start.
This is the last thing I'll say.
Hey, we're the All-97s.
My record, we're banging!
Seriously, that was a jokey voice, but by any record.
Except, of course, for classical music.
You guys-
Boring classical music, which we hate.
And we'd like to pounce it and kill it [Gb] forever.
I'm sorry, this is just so off the topic of what it was like to work with you.
I have a conference call.
I'm sorry.
Hey, everyone.
We're all here.
How's Ireland?
You brought the weather with you?
[Ab]
[Eb] [Cm]
[Eb]

[Cm]
I'm not afraid.
[C] I'm good with [Eb] God.
I got my [Bb] sins.
[Eb] In fact, I've got a [F] lot.
I got a soul that's good and [Cm] flawed.
I'm good with God.
I'm good with God.
I'm not afraid.
Got no regrets.
[Eb] I've paid my dues.
I've paid my [F] debts.
I've made a [Fm] mess, but it's my [C] bed.
[Cm] No regrets.
No [D] regrets.
[Ab] [Eb] Goodness knows [Bb] I've done [Cm] you wrong.
[Ab] I'm not [Eb] too gone [Bb] to see.
[Ab] All's [Eb] I know is [Bb] I'm [C] good with [F] God.
And how she feels [Cm] about me.
[F] Oh, yeah, I wonder how she [Cm] feels about me.
[Eb]

[Bb] [Cm]
You should be scared.
I'm not so nice.
[Eb] Many a [Bb] man [Eb] has paid the price.
[F] You're pretty thick, so I'll tell you [Cm] twice.
I'm not so nice.
I'm [Dm] not so nice.
[Cm] I'll beat you up and I'll break you [Eb] down.
I'll do it [Bb] slow.
How [Eb]
does that [F] sound?
You're just a joke that's going [G] round.
[Ab] [Eb] Goodness knows [Bb] you've done [C] me wrong.
[Ab] I'm not [Eb] too blind [Bb] to see.
[Ab] You [Eb] might [Bb] think you're [C] good with [F] God.
But I'll have to wait and [Cm] see.
[F] I guess we'll have to wait [Cm] and see.
Oh, [C]
[Eb]
[Fm] [Ab]
[D] [C] [Cm]
hell no.
Say it ain't so.
[Eb] Is it too late to save my [F] soul?
Where do the busted angels [G] go?
[Ab] Goodness [Eb] [Bb] knows I've done [C] you wrong.
[Ab]
I'm not [Eb] too [Bb] gone to see.
[Ab]
I [Eb] can only hope [Bb] I'm good [C] with God.
[F]
Oh, how she [G] feels [Cm] about me.
[F]
How she feels [Cm] about me.
[F] I guess we'll have to [C] wait and see.

should say your drummer was not able to be here today.
He injured his back.
But he is still the number one drummer.
And all you watchers and listeners out there,
you guys think you're great drummers?
Stick it.
Stick it and go to hell because he's the number one drummer.
You guys think you can play drums?
Come here to the studio.
We challenge you because
We're not going to do that challenging.
This is a very real death threat to everyone out there.
We will kill you. Oh,
