[B] Hi there and welcome to How to Play Old School 12 Bar Blues Part 5.
[Bb] Today we'll be discussing the one finger ending.
[C] What we're going to do is play through the [E] blues and [Em]
[B]
then [E] end it like [B] this.
[Bb]
[A] [E] [B]
[E] [A] Or like this.
[E] [Bb]
[A] [D] [A] [Bb] [B]
Right?
[C] Now what we did there is simply went to the fourth fret on the G string.
Put one finger there and we're going to play the G string and the high E string at the same time.
So we're starting here [D]
at fret 4, [E]
pulling on both strings.
Fret 3, [Am] fret 2 and hammering on fret [E] 1.
Like that.
So you got [C] this.
[Am] [Ab]
[E] And you're sounding the high E string at the same time.
Okay, so it's going to sound like this.
[Am]
[E] Then you follow that with a [B] B7 chord.
And then back to [E] E string.
Right?
[D] Now, you can play this several ways.
You can just play the two strings like this [E] simultaneously.
[Bb] [A]
[E] [A] And then walk up to your B7 like [Bb] this.
[B] That way [E] it sounds like this.
[B]
Or you can mangle the notes a little bit.
You can go [E] [Ab] like [A]
[Em] [E] [C] that.
So what I'm doing there [Gb] is playing the G string first, [G] [B] then follow with a [E] finger on the high [Bb] E like [Am]
[E] that.
So we've got this.
[Bb] [Am]
[E] Now you can come up with [Eb] many variations on how you do this.
But you're working with just these two strings here.
[E] So,
[D] [E] walk it [A] up.
A, [Bb] Bb, [B] B.
[D] And you can slide [E] that like [B]
that.
So there's lots of things you can do with that.
Okay, now you might strike the strings simultaneously like [Eb] this.
And slide them.
[Am]
[E] [B] And then your B7 chord.
[E]
Now [B] let's play from the B7 to [A] A7 to [Gb]
E7 so you can see what that [F] sounds like at the end of your [Em] progression.
Here it goes.
[B] [A]
[E]
[Gbm] [A] [B]
[E] The whole thing.
[A]
[E] [A]
[E] [A]

[B] [A]
[Gb] [Gbm] [E]
[B] [E] Alright, and we could have done an alternate ending which would have been
[A] [E]
[B]
[E] Just like that.
Okay, now those are just some things that you can play around with as far as your endings go.
