[Dm] This is a tutorial for Mac DeMarco's One More Love Song.
Really nice chords in this song, although they're quite simple and it's [D] just a great tune to play.
So it starts on a Dm9, so you've got the D in root position,
[Dm] you've got the D in the bass, a [F] minor 3, 5, a minor 7, [Dm] a 9,
and then the next chord is a Dm6 9.
So the 7 drops down and becomes the 6 and we play again.
[A] And then we go to an Am9, so we go to A, we have [Am] the bass,
minor 3, 5, minor 7, 9,
[B] and then just as an intro back into the [Em] chord it's nice to play F, G, E, D, E,
and then [Dm] it comes back to the Dm9, so playing that in its entirety.
[Am]
[Dm] And now here I like to play the same [F] chord except I bring that E [Dm] down to a D,
[D] and the 7 becomes the 6 again.
[G] So [D] we go from the Dm9, the [Dm] deep stained Dm9,
[G] [Dm]
and then we bring, instead of the [Em] A up here, [A] I like to bring the A down and not play the 9,
just play it as an Am7.
So that voicing is root, 5, minor 7, [Am] root, minor 3.
[A] And then the bass in the tune plays this riff upwards where it goes
[B] A, A, B, C, E, A, B, [G] C, G.
[Dm] So the second half of that chord progression goes from the start,
[Em] [C]
and then [Dm] back to the start.
[Am]
[Dm] [C]
[D] That's it.
I hope you [Am] enjoyed this tutorial.
Great song, sounds [Dm] good.
Thanks for watching.
