Hi, I'm Peter Krasinski and I'm from the Boston area and I'm very happy to be here in Nashville to play for this evening's concert of the Phantom of the Opera on this magnificent Schoenstein organ that you have in town.
You're in an amazingly lucky city to have such an incredible organ.
What I do generally is I watch the film and I get to know the organ really well and then I literally improvise.
So every performance you see is completely unique.
It's the only time it's ever going to happen quite that way.
But what I do is I do prepare the organ and this organ has a few magnificent things.
First of all, it has gorgeous string [D] sounds.
[F#m] [Gm]
[D] [B] [Em]
[A] [F#] [Bm] [Em] [D] [F#m] [A]
[D] And also [B] very dramatic [C] sounds.
[F]
[G#] A [C#]
[F#] [G#] [C#]
[Am] great deal of [E] strength.
[Am] [A] [E] [A#]
[D#]
[A] [E] [F#] [D#] [F#] [A]
[D] [A] [A#]
[D]
[B] And with all of that ability to make sonic messaging across, it kind of marries itself with the film and we're all part of it.
[G] There's three important parts.
There's the movie, there's the music, but most importantly is you, the audience.
Because you are what makes it come alive.
Without you, nothing happens.
So try to be here tonight.
