overthinking - original song | Orla Gartland chords
Jam Along & Learn...
[Cm] I'm on an overcrowded train fighting an overcrowded brain and all [Ab] these bags under my eyes hold
up my compromise [Gm] and maybe I should bail on everything anything we do not learn anything
in [G] school could have played [C] by the rules could be happy in a different way [Cm] struggling with
the London rent they said it'll be hard now I know what they meant [Ab] I'll lose sleep head
stuck in the cereal bowl but I'm here for the music I'm no [Gm] distracted can I say what
I mean can I mean what I [Ab] say why can't I figure out how I [G] feel when I wake up every day [Fm] I
face everything with the same old logic [Bb] over analyzing everything is tragic [Fm] maybe some
things they will never make sense [Bb] so I talk a little but I'm not making a dent no
[Ab] and
I think my brain is breaking [Eb] and it's just myself I've been blaming [Ab] it's frustrating
[Eb] I just wanna know why [Ab] and I know no good can come of [Eb] it I wish that I [Bb] could just be done with [Ab] it
but I'm sinking [Eb] I just [Gm] wanna know why I'm [Ab] overthinking no [Eb] no and I just wanna know [Gm] I
just wanna know [Ab] why oh [Eb] oh and I just wanna know why [Cm] I'm an outcast to be left behind I'm an
extrovert with an anxious [Ab] mind there's a danger that I might just pull my heart out to a total
[Gm] stranger in a bar they're not gonna want to hear no that it's there to sit there [Ab] beer not hear
[Bb] about problems to solve and God this girl so self [Cm]-involved play it out of my head [C] trying to
make good choices hear [Ab] voices they can't pick one side help I look so stupid sitting there [G] tongue
tied [Gm] meltdown all I can hear is code red code [Ab] red got [Bb] a problem the control center in my own
[Fm] head facing the [G] world the same old logic over analyzing everything is tragic maybe [Fm] some things
they will never make sense [C] so I talk a little but I'm not making a dent no [Bb] and [Ab] I think my brain is
[Eb] breaking and it's [Bb] just myself I've been [Ab] blaming it's [Eb] frustrating I just wanna [Gm] know why [Ab] and I know
no good can come [Eb] of it I wish that [Bb] I could just be done [Ab] with it but I'm [Eb] sinking I just wanna [Gm] know
why I'm [Ab] overthinking no [Eb] no and I just wanna know I just wanna know [Ab] why no [Bb] no and I just wanna [Gm] know
why hey
[Bm]
I hope [Gbm] you enjoyed that if you are part of my secret demo club on patreon you actually
heard that song already like over a year ago and I realized the other day that I never talk about
my patreon on other parts of the internet so I'm gonna tell you about it right now [D] as a musician I
find [Db] it really easy to get caught up in all the [Gbm] parts of the job that don't really matter and a
couple years ago I realized that songs are everything they're just everything and the best
use of my time as a [Bm] musician is to be writing songs that I [Gbm] love and [Ab] that I'm proud of and that
have a chance [Gbm] of connecting with other people so in 2015 you may have noticed I stopped releasing
music for a bit and I stopped touring I just hit pause [Gb] and I instinctively knew that I [D] just needed
to make a lot of music on my own and get to the very core of who I wanted to be as a [Gbm] musician so
I set up a little studio in my bedroom and since then [B] I've been writing constantly as sometimes
with other people sometimes on my own [Gbm] finishing demos from start to finish it's been amazing like
I'm finally making music [Bm] that is so honest and so me but two years ago I started to find this whole
process kind of wasteful here was all this music that I loved but it was just sitting on my laptop
it felt wrong so I started a secret demo club on a platform called patreon if you've never heard of
patreon it's like an online tip jar [B] it's like a way of supporting creators that you love to create
[Gb] more [Gbm] stuff when I started the secret [A] demo club I genuinely had no idea that it [Db] would become my
favorite part of the internet [Gbm] I love it so much at the moment [Db] there's almost 500 of you on there
and every single [D] month I send them all out and a totally exclusive home demo [Bm] we've built an amazing
[Gbm] community on there which has been one of the nicest parts here's a picture of me and three
friends that actually [D] first met on the secret demo club Sonia lives in France, Wooter [Gbm] lives in the
Netherlands and Drew in the States and every couple months they meet [D] up it's pretty damn cool
for me the secret demo club has become this invaluable safe space to try new [Gb] song ideas to
ramble and blog posts and videos it's just really cool to get my music to the ears of the people
that love [Gbm] it most so with the support of all these [A] patrons I've been able to buy gear for my home
studio and [Db] when I release music this year yes I'll be able to do it [Gb] properly without the need for a
label I'll be able to have total creative control [D] plus [Db] with the help of these patrons I've been able
to live off music [Gbm] full-time I just make so much more of it it's amazing [Gb] [Gbm] so if you like my music
and you want to hear more of it more often I'll put the link to my [E] secret demo club in the
description [Bm] you can check out all the rewards that you can get for [D] supporting me monthly demos
that's the main thing access to the [Gbm] patron only feed monthly Google Hangouts exclusive merch I'm
gonna start a little mini [D] podcast series on there next month so yeah check it out and [Gbm] to all of you
that are on there already thank you so much
