I'd like to thank you for having us this [E] morning.
This is the Pandanus Club.
This is Mr.
[A] Elder Leo Tamadi on [D] bass.
[E] This is Robbie Nguyen, a singer from Baku, Hawaii.
[E] And we're here [Am] to introduce you to the Bukkan Mask Team album.
[Em] And this is from our very first album.
[A] And I remember, I'll tell [A] you how we got started.
[Em] We were called the Hilton Hawaii Village Serenaders.
That's such [E] a shitty name, man.
[A] Because we played in the pool bar, you know?
And what happened was, [E] Robbie and my cousin was playing.
[E] And the third [A] guy left, and so my cousin called me up and said,
Hey, you want to join our group?
I was like, okay, it was a [E] pool gig.
And so [Em] I met Robbie the [A] first night, and he was 19 years old.
And [Em] we played that evening, and I went, wow, that was two years ago.
[A] No, it was a year and a half.
No, it was two, maybe years ago.
[E] But he so impressed [A] me.
And I was writing this song because I played with this other group [Em] called Ka'eo at the time.
And I had written all of these [A] Hawaiian songs, and they didn't want to do Hawaiian [D] music.
And so [E] I told the Hilton Hawaii Village Serenaders, hey, [A] you guys, like, record an album.
[E] So we did, and we took all of these songs that [E] I had just written for another group that hated it.
[A] And this was one of the songs that came from that [E] college show.
