Guys, that was kick-ass, man.
I gotta give it up for Pop Rhoadz.
Thank you.
[N]
So we're gonna get into a Q&A right now.
Questions from Twitter and Facebook.
I'm gonna go first.
Tobin, talk about the different phases you went through and how the sound of fear fits in the spectrum.
The sound of fear, well I think a lot of the sonic qualities of fear has a lot to do with
working with Kevin and Kane and Sherco.
They have a unique sound that's all their own.
Really punchy, massive drums and guitars that are right in your face.
We basically came into the studio, we didn't bring our own guitars, we didn't bring the
normal amps that we perform with.
We were using what they have and a lot of it's like modern technology, profiling amps.
We actually programmed the drums first for all the songs just so we could lay down the
foundation of the arrangement and then we recorded all the live drums at the end once
we knew exactly how the song was gonna go.
Like the drums were the last thing.
That's completely ass backwards from how we've ever done any other record before.
So that took a lot of getting used to but once we kinda let go of it and stopped making
a big deal out of, you know, why are we doing it this way?
We just let it be what it was, we realized it worked.
I just remember being in the studio just countless times just looking at each other
and trying to believe it as I'm saying it.
It's like trust the process, we just gotta trust the process guys.
Natalie Rose from Twitter, what's your favorite song on this new album and why?
I like Falling Apart.
It's an uplifting song, it has a lot of different characters about it musically.
With the riff and the beat and then opening up to this huge epic chorus and then taking
you down into this journey of a valley of a bridge that's just a beautiful bridge but
at the same time you can jump to it, you can bang your head to it.
You think and you feel so many different emotions I feel like all in one song.
For as much as we disagree on dude, we agree on a lot of things too man.
This next question is from Morgan.
Morgan, take it away.
Given your past experiences, would any of you consider writing a memoir?
I've considered that but I don't think I'm ready to do it quite yet.
I don't think the story's all the way told and I don't feel that I'm ready for that.
I see some other artists that have been in the game for like six years and they write
memoirs and I'm like dude, give us some time homie.
You gotta hit bottom and then get back up again dude.
But I think maybe eventually, maybe in my 50s or something like that once this thing
has kind of mellowed out.
Genevieve, I'm sorry if I mispronounced that.
Who out of you guys is the best liar?
We were fighting yesterday about who turned the AC off on the bus.
Yeah dude, who turned the AC off?
You said who turned the AC off last night?
And I said I didn't turn the AC off.
Oh so you were the one that turned the AC off?
I turned it off.
Well I didn't turn it off last night, I turned it off in the day.
Technicalities.
He's going for the technical, you know what I'm saying?
He's got his way out.
Next question we got from Brendan Caldwell.
Who was all you guys' first kiss?
Who was my first kiss?
Oh dude, I can't even go into this.
Dude it started with a kiss.
That was it?
That time?
Dude the first kiss went like.
Wow. Wow.
It went all the way huh?
Yeah.
You gonna tell the story?
It went all the way to halfway.
It was, oh man, my mom walked in and caught us in the thing.
It was terrible dude.
Worst experience of my life.
Jerry was my first kiss.
Sorry.
We have Kayla Palmer.
What is the scariest encounter you've had, you've ever had with a fan?
The time somebody brought an aquarium full of cockroaches.
That was pretty, that was like they're all here.
Madagascar hissing cockroaches.
One time I was at a hotel and I had my towel around my waist and I just got out of the shower
and somebody's knocking on my door and usually it's one of my crew dudes or one of my buddies
like coming over to borrow a phone charger or you know, hey you got a beer or whatever you know.
Open the door and I'm standing there and this person starts taking photos of me.
I'm like what the what?
Shut the door.
I'm like you gotta go away.
And ever since that we started checking in hotels underneath aliases just cause you know what I'm saying.
You don't want a creeper at your door dude.
That was Papa Roach.

With the riff and the beat and then opening up to this huge epic chorus and then taking
you down into this journey of a valley of a bridge that's just a beautiful bridge but
at the same time you can jump to it, you can bang your head to it.
You think and you feel so many different emotions I feel like all in one song.
_ For as much as we disagree on dude, we agree on a lot of things too man. _ _
This next question is from Morgan.
Morgan, take it away. _
_ Given your past experiences, would any of you consider writing a memoir?
_ I've considered that but I don't think I'm ready to do it quite yet.
I don't think the story's all the way told and _ I don't feel that I'm ready for that.
I see some other artists that have been in the game for like six years and they write
memoirs and I'm like dude, _ _ _ give us some time homie.
You gotta hit bottom and then get back up again dude.
But I think maybe eventually, maybe in my 50s or something like that once this thing
has kind of mellowed out.
Genevieve, _ I'm sorry if I mispronounced that. _ _ _
Technicalities.
He's going for the technical, you know what I'm saying?
_ He's got his way out.
Next question we got from Brendan Caldwell. _
Who was all you guys' first kiss?
Who was my first kiss?
Oh dude, I can't even go into this. _ _
_ Dude it started with a kiss.
That was it?
That time?
Dude the first kiss went like.
Wow. Wow.
It went all the way huh?
Yeah.
You gonna tell the story?
It went all the way to halfway.
_ It was, oh man, my mom walked in and caught us in the thing.
It was terrible dude. _ _
Worst experience of my life.
Jerry was my first kiss.
_ _ _ _ Sorry.
We have Kayla Palmer.
What is the scariest encounter you've had, you've ever had with a fan?
_ The time somebody brought an aquarium full of _ cockroaches.
That was pretty, that was like they're all here.
Madagascar hissing cockroaches. _ _
One time I was at a hotel and I had my towel around my waist and I just got out of the shower
and somebody's knocking on my door and usually it's one of my crew dudes or one of my buddies
like coming over to borrow a phone charger or you know, hey you got a beer or whatever you know. _
Open the door and I'm standing there and this person starts taking photos of me. _
I'm like what the what?
Shut the door.
I'm like you gotta go away.
And ever since that we started checking in hotels underneath aliases just cause you know what I'm saying.
You don't want a creeper at your door dude.
