I'll tell you what happened to a friend of mine at home the other day.
He just a young minister of the Stockton Bible.
He was in a ministry.
[G] They had a death [Eb] in the church and the pastor took [N] ill.
And he asked this young man, he said,
if [G] you would, he said, I've [Gm] got another fellow that's going to preach at the funeral service,
[Eb] but if you don't [G] care, tomorrow morning at [E] 1030,
would you go to [N] the cemetery and just do what you feel like doing there for the family?
He said, sure, Reverend, I'll do that.
So the young man got up the next morning, he got dressed,
started out in his car,
and he happened to realize that the pastor and the member of the congregation were in the cemetery.
He said, I don't know where in the world that cemetery is.
He [G] didn't tell me the name of it.
He said, I'll just drive around and see if I can [Abm] see a crowd.
[Gm] He drove around his 15-acre left.
He said, [N] I'm messed up now.
They're all there for the left, maybe.
Come around the curb, went up the hill, and there was a back fold on the hill,
a pair of two guys sitting up there.
He said, I bet that's where it was at.
Well, he said, even though the family's gone, I'm going to remember what I told him I would.
So he went up there and he spoke to those guys, and he went to the gate,
[G] walked up to the hole and [N] read some Scripture and said a prayer.
And he come back out and said, you fellas have a nice day.
[G] One of them said, Roy, you know, all the time we've [N] been putting in septic tanks.
Your boys have been putting in septic [F] tanks for [Gm] 30 years.
They said, I believe that's the first [Bbm] time they ever had that type.
[Ebm] [Bb] Oh, well, [B] [F] I guess we better [E] move along, can't we?
[Gb] [E]
I tell you, it's good to [B] be here.
Are you [N] having a good time?
Well, I don't want to spoil it for you.
Let's [G] get down and be flat [E] when we get over here.
And you may not be right on pitch when we [Eb] start, but it'll [D] be flat when we get done with [E] it.
[Bb]
[F] Roy, an old Don Reno song we have [Bb] recorded and been recorded a long time by different artists.
But we always loved the song.
We thought we'd try it [E] up here.
So I hope you like the way we do it.

I have often read pages [C] since my mother [F] passed away.
[Bb] When mother just a baby boy, I [Eb] was simple and [Bb] her key.
Mother [Eb] looked just [Bb] like an angel [F] when she read this [Bb] book to me.
Mother smiled, mother smiled [Eb] with these colors, warm [Bb] and old.
Mother smiled, mother smiled, [C] words much more for [F] me than gold.
[Bb] And she told me, yes she told me, [Eb] just before she [Bb] went to sleep.
If I [Eb] read it, and if it, [F] she's been my [Bb] soul key.

[Bb] Through the years there may be changes, [Eb] but one change [Bb] there'll never be.
