Pentagram - What's in My Bag? chords
Start Jamming...
Hi, I'm Bobby Liebling, singer of Pentagram, and I'm going to let you know what's [F#] in the bag.
Many choose but few are chosen, slicing darkened patterns of [E] life.
[F#] The calling voice rings ever [F#m] clear, a curious volume sustains every [A] vibe.
[D] [C#m] We'll [F#] start out right here with Johnny Thunder's and the Heartbreakers live.
[B] I'm going to let you know [G] [A] [Bm] what's in the bag.
[B]
Johnny Thunder was someone I knew real well, [E] and God bless me he's not here with us anymore.
[B] It's the first Heartbreakers album, [E] it's done live at the Village Gate in 77.
Rocky Erickson, this is the lead singer and rhythm player in 13th Floor Elevators.
Don't slide on me, don't slide on me, my, my, never slide on me.
This [G] is a special edition [D] obviously.
It's got three sides, [N] yes.
This is the only thing I've ever seen besides Second Winter by Johnny Winter that has three sides.
Also, here's something that's really a must.
[Dm] UFO were a big, big influence of mine.
It's so special, oh so special, you [Am] can't take that away.
[C] All of the stuff by UFO has been [F] reissued and it's all got lots of extra [Dm] cuts on it, because I've got all of them.
They've had a string [G]
of [Em] guitar slingers that I don't know where in the hell they're digging them [D] all up from,
but they get one [Em] after another and every guy they [F#] get is the best guitar player in the world [Em] when he comes on the [D] scene with UFO.
This is, wow, this is Rocky when he was a whole lot younger.
You drive me [E] crazy, I can't be lazy, drive me crazy when you [A] keep me all [D] alone.
[A] As I was [F#m] just pointing out, a friend of mine, [D] these are all [F#m] covers and favorites of his, [D] I guess.
Yeah, [E] Rocky's a great musician and [A] he's hardly ever gotten any credit at all, let alone the credit he deserves.
I think Rocky Erickson is an absolute other genie.
Here's another Johnny Thunder's product, so to speak.
[E] [A] [Am] [D] [C#m] It's a second year of Doll's album.
I'm getting it because it's on pink vinyl and I've never seen it on pink [E] vinyl.
I've got the first one on pink vinyl, as a matter of fact, and a couple other things.
They've got a lot of pink vinyl stuff.
Pink's my favorite color, so.
Right here is The Boss.
This is The Boss.
I've had a lot of personal time spent with him.
Tour bus, women, the whole nine yards.
This is [B]
my favorite album in history.
[C#] And it's probably the worst mix I've ever put [E] down.
You can't [N] tell half of the shit that's going on at all.
The first time I met Eddie, I was 14, and I met him at a place called Falls Church Recreation Center.
I met him because Cincinnati Pop Festival had just [D#] been aired on [F#] television.
[G#] And he got in that [C#] peanut butter fight with the [F#] audience.
[D#] But he got in a peanut butter fight that night [F#] also.
[G#]
And after it [C#] was over, since the place only held [D#] 400, nobody really knew who the students were.
[C#] They'd just been [G#] mesmerized.
That's [D#] all they knew.
[G#] And I walked [D#] into the bathroom, and he was covered with peanut butter.
I said, can I help you with that?
So I was cleaning peanut butter off of him.
This is the way we met.
[G#m]
We [B] became friends after that.
And
[G#] these people are my whole world.
It was like, someday I'm going to do this.
And I never [C#] gave up.
[D#m] And now [B] I've got, you know, Pentagram's been together [D] for 47 years this year.
Last but not least, I can't leave out this.
This is the album that's got me in trouble a lot.
It's kind of
tells you to be a heroin addict, and it's fun.
Ah, [G] it looks so good.
[D] Ah, [G] she's made out of wood.
[A#] It's kind of a dumb thing for you to say, really.
[D] But I have my battles, and I do have my skeletons in my closet.
And [E] so I stopped after 43 [D] years of being a heroin addict.
And I just stopped full of turkey.
I was on 140 milligrams of methadone at the time.
I had a $500 a day habit.
Which had gone up at times.
Me and my girlfriend each had a $1,000 a day habit.
So I had to support like $2,500 a day.
So anyway, that kind of sums it up in short.
[F#m] You know, I want to thank you guys,
because this stuff all should definitely be in the bag.
All [D] right?
[A] [F#m] [D] [A]
[F#] [A]
[F#m] [D] Be [A] bye!
