[N] Hi, I'm Pete Grant and I'm here to show you the SP2 bar, what the features are, what Rick
Shove and I came up with when we designed it.
Okay, so, first thing you notice about the bar compared to like a Tipton bar or a Shearhorn
bar is that there's a rounded nose.
And the rounded nose is excellent for not hitting the next string as you move up because
[G] one of the things you want to do is when you're playing, you want your finger to be
over the tip, [N] the fingertip to be over the string that you're playing and not be covering
the bar all the time.
So if I'm just playing strings [G] 5, 4, 3, then I don't play anything after that.
And if I need string 2, I just go up to it.
So that avoids the collision you might have.
I'm using the other end of the bar now.
[N] And that's the other side of the bar, which can be used for pull-offs and [D] stuff.
[A]
[D] [N] But you can still use the rounded nose for [D] the pull [Am]-offs.
[D] [N] You get a good pull-off.
It's not quite as crisp, but then you don't have to switch the bar around.
It's a little bit tricky, but
[G] you practice that just like anything else.
[N] So the other thing about the bar is that there's an indentation on either side that allows
you to do pretty good [D] reverse slants.
[C#m] [D] [A]
[Bm] [A] [C] [D]
[D#] [Em] [G] So you can [N] hold the bar like that for part of the time that you're slanting.
It's a little bit of a trick to get your hand so you raise up the back of the wrist and
then you pivot at the tip of the bar, push it up, and then grab the other end with your [D#] middle finger.
