[A#m] [F#] [C#]
So [A#m] guys, 27 [F#] years we've been together.
I think back to [C#] when we first started.
It was [A#m] sort of like a marriage when we first got together trying [F#] to change each other and
[C#] that didn't work too good.
I tried hard to [G#] change them.
They [D#] were unchangeable.
[C#] We were friends before we got together as Phillips, Craig and Dean.
So [A#m] built on that foundation, we just continued to build for years [Fm] and years.
We've traveled the country together.
[D#] I love these guys.
They're my brothers.
It's been a wonderful [F#] ride.
You know a lot of people [C#] ask us, how do we do this?
How are you [F#] a lead pastor and still travel with Phillips, Craig and Dean?
I'm not sure I've always done that [C#] real well.
I don't know about you guys.
It's quite a juggling act.
[G#] If we didn't have fantastic staff at our churches [F#] and at Phillips, Craig and Dean management,
oh, I don't know what we'd do.
It [D#m] also helps that the church people knew me [A#m] before.
They know me now.
There's a certain amount [D#] of comfort [G#] in long-term faithfulness and [C#m] persevering through stuff together.
It brings us [F#] closer.
I think in the [C#] early days, we did try to change each other [D#] and we learned how to lean into
[F#] each other's strengths and look [C#m] over the [Fm] flaws.
And actually, I think at this [F#] point, after this long, [C#] there's a certain amount of comfort
in knowing [F#] each other.
[D#m] It's been what, four [A#m] or five years since our last album?
This was [G#] rather interesting how everything came together.
We had tried [Fm] to get new songs and things just didn't seem to work out timing-wise.
This just [C#] all came together.
We were coming full circle working with Nathan Knuckles, the producer.
He produced an album for us, took us to a different place.
Let My Words Be Few.
Let My Words Be Few.
Oh, what a great album.
We are now coming full circle back to Nathan.
Is this our final album?
It might be.
I think the fun [B] thing about this [F#] was we wrote most of the songs.
Nine out of [B] ten songs we either [C#] wrote or co-wrote.
That was pretty exciting when we came to the [F#] place of song selection this time.
[C#] You had written a lot and we had a lot of songs to pick [F#] from [C#] and still, there's some
songs you [F#] wrote that probably [C#] deserve to be on the album, but we just could only make
space for ten.
Somebody told [F#] me one time, nobody ever gives birth to an ugly baby.
[G#] You give birth to a [A#m] song and to you, it looks [F] really good.
We were born to sing.
God put a gift in all three of us.
And so when we're [C#] performing, [F#] particularly together, there's something so beautiful about it.
We love to sing those old songs that we've been singing for [C#] 28 years, but the new material,
man, that's fun.
Never say never, but you know, [F#] this could be it.
You just don't ever know.
So you better get to travel.
