In this video lesson I'm going to show you how to play this beautiful Montuno.
So stay with me, let's go.
So in this Montuno we have four basic chords.
The first chord will be E minor, like this.
[D] The second chord will be D.
The next chord [C] will be C.
And the last one will be B.
[B] So in this progression we have four chords.
[Em] E minor, [D]
E, [C] C [B] and B.
[Em] And now I'm going to double the low note of the chord.
When we play E minor I double the E note, like this.
When we play D major I double the D [D] note, like this.
When we play C I double the [C] C.
And when we play B I double [B] the B, like this.
So we have four chords.
[Em] E minor, [D] E,
[C] C [B] and B.
And that's the basic of this Montuno.
Now I'm going to show you how to play this Montuno in three basic steps.
Let's start with the first step.
[Em]
Instead of playing E minor chord like this, I'm going to split the note of the chord, like this.
One, two, three, and.
One, two, four.
One, two, four.
I do the same on the D chord, [E]
like [D] this.

[B] and B.
Again.
[Em]

[Em] And now in the second step we're going to take the main note of the chord one step down, like this.

Let's try to do it with the rhythm.

So, I'm going to play three notes [E] of each one of the chord.
When I play E chord, sorry, E minor chord, I play the root, the E.
Then I play the fifth degree, which [B] is the B.
And we go up to the E [E] again, like this.
When we play D major chord, I [D] play it from the main root, from the D.
[A] [D] Like this.
On C chord [C] I play.

[F#] [B] And now let's talk about the rhythm.
The first note is falling on the one, all the other notes are falling on the end of the two and four.

Let's take a look.
