[Ab] [E] Hi, this is David Lovering of the Pixies.
[Abm] story of
[Ab] Charles called me up and he [E] says, I got this thing and we have Vietnamese food.
[Abm] hungry and I want to hear your [E] new shit, uh, stuff.
[Eb] progression and that was [E] really it.
[Ab] he showed me the [A] chorus and he was like, this is awesome.

[Ab] _ [E] Hi, this is David Lovering of the Pixies.
This is Joey Santiago.
And this is the [Abm] story of_
Where's My Mind.
All right, so Where's My [Dbm] Mind.
[Ab] Charles called me up and he [E] says, I got this thing and we have Vietnamese food.
[Dbm] He said, I'm [Abm] hungry and I want to hear your [E] new shit, uh, stuff.
So I went over there and he showed me the chord [Eb] progression and that was [E] really it.
And I go, that's very interesting.
Oh [Dbm] yeah, and [Ab] he showed me the [A] chorus and he was like, this is awesome.
[Db] So I picked up a guitar, an extra [B] guitar, and that riff, that riff that I play in electric
came like that.
And it was like, okay, we're keeping that.
[E] I'm not overthinking anything.
[Dbm] So it's [Ab] that.
The most amazing thing [A] about Where's My Mind though is, [E] is that, [Ab] um, [A] I don't know how many
years back, there was a Mars [Db] rover [B] from JPL that went to Mars and it had a software glitch
on [E] it and it couldn't get booted up or whatever.
But one of the mornings, the way they rebooted [Em] the computer [E] on the rover, on the surface,
[Eb] they played Where's My Mind.
[E] And that was just like, I can't think of any other Pixie story that I [Ab] think is cooler than that [E] or_
That would scare me in space.
Where's My Mind is [Ab] like, you look at Earth, [A] _ _ I'd go insane.
[E] And Sephiroth was very easy, because like Joe was [Db] saying, we had played all these songs
in all the clubs for a long [Dbm] time, the majority of the [Ab] songs.
And Where's My Mind was [A] another one, especially with drums.
[E] _ _ [Abm] Yeah, whatever.
[A] So it was very easy to [Ab] record.
And an interesting fact about Where's My Mind is, [B] we've been touring and reunion since 2004.
And we've been doing Where's My Mind most every night.
[Bm] And it wasn't until maybe six weeks ago [B] that I happened to hear a [E] recording of Where's
My Mind and I'm leaving out a hi-hat [Ab] part in it that goes in all the time.
It's [E] like, are you kidding me?
So now that's back in [Dbm] every other of the_
Damn it, Dave.
[Ab] _ [E] The best riff?
Yeah, by far.
I mean that [Dbm] and_
[Eb] That really is, you know, [E] I'm very proud of the solo.
[Ab] _ _ _
_ [E] Hey.
And the other good riff is _ Bone Machine.
But I love, I just like the fact that [Db] people are [Ab] _
[A] using and [E] getting inspired by [Ab] that.
[A] Where's My Mind is one of the best placed music [Dbm] on [B] film. _
I [E] could always say this in third person, because when [Ab] I hear our stuff, I just hear it in [E] the fan.
But the music is there, it was done [Ab] by the Dust Brothers.
[E] And it's all this mechanical stuff, you [Dbm] know, and kind of hard rhythms.
[Ab] And when the [A] _ _ [E] poop was hitting the fan, the [Eb] building started [E] collapsing.
You would think that it's going to be like something_
[Ab] _ _
[E] But what's the first thing you hear?
Acoustic guitar.
[Eb] It's like, what a [E] juxtapose that I was just like_
I'm getting goosebumps right now.
Swear to God.
Look, Dave.
Look at my neck.
[N] Oh yeah.
You see it?
See it?
And then I look like a chicken.
So, and_
But it was just creepy awesome.
Good job to whoever, whoever the music supervisor was for
