Hey y'all, here's another [G] kind of exercise song you could mess around with.
I just looked up on YouTube, Black Sabbath Planet Caravan guitar backing [Em] track.
[G] [Em]
The way I play [E] this, I don't know how anybody else [Ab] does it,
[Ebm] would [Am] be [E] open low E and then A on second fret, D on fourth [Em] fret and everything else open.
[G]
And the second one [C] is, forget the low E, [G] and A at the fifth, D at the fourth and everything else open.
[Em]
And you [B] can mess around with soloing in [Ab] E, I don't know what the scale is or [F] whatever it is,
but it's one to explore a little bit and play.
It's almost like jazz kind of playing, which I don't really do.
For an exercise it forces a player like me [Ab] to play,
to try and think in ways that I wouldn't normally think,
and even do the pick attack like you would normally do.
[G] So, just for exercise sake, it's not bad.

[E] But anyway, [D] all that is is finger exercise, that's not really musical.
It's just strictly as an exercise, not as a performance,
not as even really trying to improvise, but you're just working on dexterity, that's all it is.
So it's good to [N] do that.
When people say, do you ever practice,
if this is considered practice, then yeah, I do,
because that's what I might sit down and do, just to work on that.
