Hello guys, [A] welcome to another Dreamfoo tutorial.
I am [D] very excited because today I am going to show
you [Gbm] how to get some great [A] sounding pads with just [D] your iPad.
Not your computer, not mainstage,
just your [Ab] iPad.
But hold on, wait just a second.
Let me just have some coffee first.
[D] That's it, let's get started.
[Gbm] [A] [B]
[Gb] Okay, so first let's talk about pads.
Pads are something that I think most songs have nowadays
and they're not designed to be shiny or too upfront, but they're made to just create that
ambience, just to glue a song together.
And just like songs have forms and dynamics, I believe the
pads should also be able to give you that.
So today what we're going to work on is how to use
an expression pedal with your MIDI controller so that while you're using Dreamfoot, you can
actually create movement with your pads and you can make your pads more expressive by playing
with the cutoff filters.
So for this tutorial, all you're going to need is your iPad, the Dreamfoot
app, the Sunriser app, and I am going to use the Blueboard as my MIDI controller and I will attach
an expression pedal to it so that we can control some of those parameters.
So let's get started.
So let's open the Blueboard app and let's connect our Blueboard to the app.
Once it's connected, let's go to the menu, let's go to settings, and let's make sure that under
modes we have control changes selected and not program changes.
That way we can use our expression
pedal to control certain parameters inside of the Sunriser app.
Now let's move our expression pedal
and make sure that we're receiving MIDI in the app and let's select CC channel 16 for this example.
Let's open the Sunriser app.
We're going to select the Dreampads patch, which you can download in
the description of this video.
Let's open the Dreamfoot app, let's go to settings, let's select
the Blueboard as our MIDI in and let's map it to our pedals.
Because we're using control changes
on the iRig Blueboard, not all the lights will match the actions, but this [D] is the only way that
we can connect our expression pedal to the Blueboard so that it sends the appropriate message
to control the filters on the Sunriser patch.
Now let's hit settings again and let's select under
MIDI out, Sunriser.
Let's go back to the Sunriser app, let's go to utilities, MIDI, inputs and let's
unselect everything except for the Blueboard.
Now let's go to the MIDI options on the main menu
and let's select learn.
Let's press the cutoff filter and let's move our expression pedal.
Let's press learn one more time and finally let's just select background audio.
Now let's go to the
Dreamfoot app and let's start playing some sounds with the Skool patch and let's try out our expression pedal.

iPad and adding a little bit more expression to your [Am] music.
See you in the next tutorial.
