You're 21 years old now and I can't stop you from going rock and roll.
And that young man went _ and signed a contract.
_ And he became very rich. _
Traveled all over the world and made a lot of money.
But _ somewhere along the way,
the [C#m] big crowds [C#] and the fancy clubs got next to that young man.
He got on [C#m] drugs.
Began to shoot needles in his arms.
And he became very sick. _
So sick, _ he forgot what town he lived in.

[C#] And one evening _ _ lying down in a hospital bed, _
an old lady came by.
Said, son, I was visiting and I heard about you.
She came in the [C#m] room and told him,

The young man told her what town he came from.
That lady got [C#m] on the phone and found his mother.

A good mother will go and see about a child.

Made her way _ to that town.
Went in the hospital.

Do you still believe in prayer?

That son said, yes.
She said, I want you to get out of this hospital bed.
Get out on your knees.
Ask God to forgive you.
That boy crawled out on his knees.
And began to call on Jesus.
[F#] Just a few days later, he was well enough to travel.
One God answer prayer.
_ _ _ When he got home, _ he rushed that son back to good [F#] health.
But [C#] wait a minute. _
After he got to feeling all right,
he surprised everybody.
He told his mother,
that _ _ club _ where I used to sing at.
Good God almighty.
Y'all pray with me.
You know what his mother said.
Son, _ son, you mean to tell me
there's nothing for you.
Why would you go back to that club again?
He said, I just want to sing one song in that club.
He caught the plane and went back to that same town.
That Saturday night,
he walked in the club.
And everybody [F#] stood up and recognized him.

They didn't know what song he was going to sing.
