_ It is so sweet [F] to trust [C] in Jesus, oh, [F] for grace [G] to trust [C] Him _ more. _
Christ [F] told Nicodemus in [C] John 3, 7, _ He said, You must _ [D] _
[G] be born again.
_ [C] Regeneration is a subject which lies at [F] the very, very [C] base of salvation.
_ We [F] should be [C] very diligent to take heed that we really, really are born again.
_ For I'm afraid there's [G] many that fancy they [C] are, who are [Am] not.
[D] Please be assured [G] that the name of a Christian [C] is not the nature of a Christian.
[F] And that being born in a [C] good Christian land or in a Christian home
and [F] being recognized [C] as professing the Christian religion is of no avail whatsoever.
_ [F] Unless [C] there be something added to it.
The being born again [D] by the power of the Holy Ghost.
[G] This [C] great work is so mysterious that human [F] words cannot describe [C] it.
The wind bloweth where it listeth, [F] and we hear the [C] sound thereof,
but canst not tell whence it come or whether it goeth.
So is everyone [G] that is born again.
Nevertheless, _ [C] thank God [Am] this great work can be [D] known _ [G] and felt.
[C] Known by the works of holiness _ [F] and felt by a [C] gracious experience.
It's not an operation which a [F] man can perform for [C] himself.
A [G] new [C] principle is infused which works in the heart, renews the soul and [F] affects the entire [C] man.
It's not a change of our name, but a renewal of our nature,
[D] so that we're not the [G] man that we used to [C] be, but a brand new man [F] in Christ Jesus.

To wash and dress a [F] corpse, [C] oh it's a far different thing from making it alive. _
You see, man can do the one.

If we [C] have then been born again, our acknowledgement will be,
_ [C] Oh Lord Jesus, the everlasting [F] Father, Thou art my spiritual [C] parent.
If Thy Spirit had not breathed into me,
[G] the breath of a new holy and spiritual life,
[C] I'd have been to this [Am] day [D] dead, [C] dead in my trespasses and sins.
_ It's no longer I [F] who live, _ [Am] but [C] Christ who liveth within me.
Thank [F] God my life is [G] here with [C] Christ in God.
Oh may we be well assured of this vital point,
for to be unregenerated is to be [D] unsafe,
