So I played another stick for many, many years and what I didn't focus on back then or just
is like what you can do with [Ab] the tip and with like where the
where
and actually the sound in

So I played another stick for many, many years and what I didn't focus on back then or just
didn't know about that much is like what you can do with [Ab] the tip and with like where the
weight kind of is distributed and that was actually where I then had some problems where
I was like okay I like the substance of a normal 5B [E] stick and actually the sound in
some cases but there was room for improvement.
So I realized like oh man there are a couple of things that actually my old stick was missing
and for a time it was okay and [B] after a while I was like I don't want to [G] miss those things,
I want to have them.

[G] _ _ _ _ [D] The thing is I'm a hobby woodworker.
_ I'm not good at it but I enjoy [G] it.
I'm very good at injuring myself and cutting myself.
I'm an expert at that.
My great-grandfather
was building pianos and I have a couple of his old tools and it's just I don't know maybe
something that's a little bit in our family and it was [Bb] also a very enjoyable part to be like wow
[Eb] I now have the chance [C] to work with like experts in that field [G] and it [E] really will have a big effect
on my life.
I mean this is the stuff that I love [Em] most and these are the tools that I use every day.
There's not one day where I don't have these in my hand.

_ [Bb] _ _ So it [G] was really a funny thing [C] to then
take a stick [Ab] that you think like okay this is not [Gm] bad but maybe and then really take sandpaper
and just [Fm] fool around with it.
It's not that perfect and not [Gm] balanced and blah blah blah but
you then get an appreciation [G] for what really what small changes blew my mind.
I didn't do [F] it in
like many many many years and never in that [Gm] detail like which small small [C] changes to the shape of it
[Gm] and to the tip [Cm] like really changed [Fm] how the stick felt, [G] completely changed how it felt and I really
got an appreciation for it and I was like wow I really enjoyed that process to fool around with
yeah with [Gb] that material and getting that opportunity [E] again to kind [Gbm] of yeah get it to
the next [Abm] level and [Em] improve hopefully [B] it for other people too but first of all egoistically for
myself.
I think we nailed it. _
[E] _ _ _ _ _ [Gbm] _ _ _
_ [D] _ _ _ _ _ The main thing [G] for me is really [Gb] the quality and the consistency.
Almost
more important now that I have designed it I know that it will always be that way and that I if I
get 12 like if I get a packet of like 12 pairs that all of [A] them will sound the same and will
like have [E] a nice even pitch they are paired [Bm] perfectly they're straight and the quality is
just good and [E] now that I that I that I have my stick and that I [Bm] gotten a couple of pairs it's
[G] just incredible like how if something makes your life easier and it's consistent and you don't have
to worry about it it's great. _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [Gm] _ _ _ _
_ _ [G] _ _ The good thing is that the small tip [E] gets you a more drier [G] sound
almost because it doesn't set the whole ride cymbal on fire every time.
Through that you also
[Db] get all the articulation much better too so you hear all the little notes with high [E] nice high
frequencies [A] like that what we [D] normally think is like the [Em] beautiful like ride cymbal sound and
you usually [Eb] only get it with thinner sticks [G] normally with with a tip like that but it's
kind of [Gb] a Frankenstein monster in that sense [Gm] that it has like a tip that is unusually smaller for
us for a stick that's that thickness. _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [Bm] _ _ It looks great.
[Gb] I think on the surface [E] it looks very
traditional _ but when you look a little bit closer you you will see [Em] that there are these slight
changes that are very unusual so the smaller tip the [Bm] the [G] less material like on on the on the top
so to make it less top-heavy it's not your normal 5b and the [C] other thing is [Eb] my color is [A] green like
you know the the [Bb] art and science of groove or the language of drumming or like a lot of my
artwork I like I'll just like green [B] my favorite color and I asked the guys at Big First to whether
we can make it all green and they were a little hesitant because they never did it before and and
I understood [Em] and then I said please so they did it thank [Gm] you
