[A] Everything is said about Bach, [G] I think, nowadays.
But it is true that his music is so wonderful and so good written
that [A] it really [Eb] works on [B] almost anything.
[Em]
I play [C] 4 sonatas on this new recording.
[Ab] They are written originally for Traverse Flute,
[Dm] Da [Am] Gamba, and Laut, or [B] Lute [Em] in English.
[C] [Am] [Cm]
[Em]
[B] [Em] [B] [Em] Now I play on a modern [A] instrument.
I find [E] we have much more possibilities, [G] actually.
We don't have the [Bm] limitations that the Baroque [Gm] oboe has.
And [Bm] for example, in [Gm] this Bach CD, which I present now,
I could not play [D] the pieces [Gm] I'm playing now on the Baroque oboe
[C] because of register, because of [Ab] the chromatic scale on the Baroque oboe.
It is, of course, [Bb] more limited.
[C] I
[Cm] [Fm] [Eb]
[Ab] [Bbm] [C]
feel very attached [Fm] to this [C] music.
For me, [Fm] it's just wonderful to [Gb] be able to record this [Fm] repertoire
and to perform it.
[Db] I also had the luck to do it with [Eb] people that I [C] know very well,
that we [D] play [G] very long together.
First of [Eb] all, Peter Koffler is [G] the cembalist,
as well [F] as the cellist, [Bb] Luise Buchberger.
[Eb] For the [G] second oboist in the two-flute sonata,
in the two-oboe sonata, [C] is playing Tamarim Bar,
one [Db] Israeli oboist, [F] wonderful chamber musician, and [Bb] Baroque player.
So [Eb] I feel very glad that these three [Cm] people were with me.
[Eb] [Cm] [G]
[Fm] [G] [Cm]
[C] [Gm] [G]
[Cm] [Gm] [G] [Db] I come from a [G] musical family, [Abm] or at least half of [Cm] it.
My father is a [D] piano teacher in the [G] conservatory in Granada,
and as [C] a small child [Fm] I used to go to the [D] piano
and just try to [Cm] play like my older sister.
[D] Then when I was eight, I could [G] start studying music.
I [Bbm] like wind instruments [Fm] in general.
I mean, in Spain we have [Ab] those bandas, and everyone plays on a banda.
[Bb] I thought it's also cool [F] if I play the oboe, I can [G] play on the banda.
[F] So that was [Eb] the beginning.
[C]
[G] [Cm] [Fm]
[Cm] It's just [C] wonderful, and that's mainly [F] the reason
why I built up this program [Cm] with pieces [C] that for oboe are completely new.
I [D] don't think anyone before played [G] these sonatas on the [C] oboe,
but [Fm] I think they work very well.
[Bb] [Ab] [Cm] [Bb] [Eb]
[F] [Bb] [Eb]
