Mike Gross here at RockingGuitarLessons.com and you, and you, Tube.com slash RockingGuitarLessons
1, that's RAT with Back 4 More.
Great band man.
That's the era when I started playing guitar and Warren D.
Martini is a smoking guitar player.
This is Robin Crosby's part, the intro.
One thing I want to point out, a couple things.
You want to tune a half step flat and he's also playing this on a 12 string acoustic.
So there's some high tones that you're not going to hear in here.
And that's something I need to invest in.
I need to get a 12 string, I need to get a 7 string for the Quarren lessons and stuff.
But anyways, this is exactly how Robin is playing it.
So let's jump into it.
Go open A and then first finger bar the second fret on the D and the G.
_ We're going to [Ab] hit _ _ A, D, and G.
_ 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, [F] 6 palm mutes on the A string after [Ab] that. _
_ _ [N] Then hit 2, D, 4, G.
That's first finger on the second fret and third finger on the fourth [Eb] fret.
Hit those two.
[Ab] So we have _ _ _ _ _ [E] two palm muted A's.
Back to the power [Eb] chord.
_ So [Ab] we have _ _ _ [Eb] _
_ [Abm] _ one more palm muted A.
[N] Then get rid of your third finger and bar that second fret.
You can leave it barred actually.
[Eb] D and G.
_ And [Gb] then go open D and G.
And then we're going to [N] repeat that concept over a different chord.
Middle finger third fret D, first finger second fret G.
_ And so here's what I mean.
Just repeat everything we [E] did.
It's just a different chord. _
_ _ _ _ [Abm] _ _ _ _
[N] _ And then the change here, you just drop your third finger to 4G just like we did before.
[E] So watch.
We _ [Ab] have_
_ [Bb] _ _ [Eb] _ _ [Gb] _ Okay?
[N] You follow me so far, hopefully.
Same thing again, but now we are leaving the first finger on 2G, third finger goes to 4D.
So that D string is moving chromatically.
That means one fret [Ab] at a time or a half step.
_ And do the same thing again, alright, beat wise.
Nothing has changed but that note on the D string, okay?
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[Db] _ _ [Eb] _ _ Then here's where it changes.
Pinky 5D, first finger 2G.
It's kind of a stretch.
_ _ [Gb] Go D, [Bbm] downstroke, B up, [Ab] G [Ebm] up, D down, B [Abm] up, _ G up, [Gb] _
D down.
_ [E] And then go pink.
[Ab] We'll just play that just out of our watch.
_ _ _ [Ebm] _ _ _ [Eb] Then you can get rid of your first finger.
Go third finger [Eb] 4G, leave your pinky where it [Ebm] was.
_ _ And hit the D and G together.
So we have_
_ _ _ [Ab] Then an open palm mute a day.
[Ebm] _ Hit the D and G again together.
So leave those down, you know, the pinky and third finger, don't lift them. _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [Ebm] _ _
[Ab] _ _ [Eb] And then 2_
Oh, then you move it up to 7D, [Ab] pinky, 6G, third finger.
[Eb] And then two palm mutes [Ab] on the A.
Then it starts over.
So let's do that one more time. _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[Eb] _ _ [Ab] _ _ _ [Bb] _ _ _
[E] _ _ [Ab] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [Gb] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [Ab] _ _ [Abm] _
Minus the little plub [A] up mistake.
Okay, so [Ab] anyways, it's a cool [Db] part.
I've always wanted to teach this part.
[Bb] I have a couple times with my private [Fm] students over the years, but now [Abm] it's on the internet
for you guys.
I can't wait to get into other stuff when I get into the solos, man, and show you guys
some of Warren D.
Martini's leads, and that's coming too.
Solos are going to be great.
So anyways, rockinguitarlessons.com.
My name is Mike Gross.
Watch for that website coming in September of 2012.
It's $20 a month, [F] which is extremely cheap.
It'll [N] help build a good foundation for you in every area.
Picking, strumming, chords, scales, rhythm playing, solo playing, versatility, moving
into different areas, different styles of music if you'd like.
I always suggest keep an open [Eb] mind with music.
There's so much to learn out there, guys.
If you watch all my lessons, that's one thing that you won't [G] find a whole lot.
I don't think, actually I know for a fact, with [C] teachers on YouTube, I mean, there's
some great players, man.
There's [Eb] some amazing shred players and country players.
I'm bringing all that in on my channel.
I love all styles, so I'm going to teach all the styles.
Okay, so _ be watching for that.
My YouTube channel, youtube.com slash rockinguitarlessons1.
Comments and likes, all that stuff's cool.
Makes me all happy inside.
_ And requests, keep them coming.
This one I brought in.
No one requested it.
Been wanting to do it back for more.
_ And if you have any questions, let me know.
This guitar is not the nicest sounding thing in the world.
I wish it sounded a little [N] better tone-wise.
I really wish I had a 12 string, but I will.
_ What else, what else, what else?
I think that's it.
_ _ If you're struggling on anything with any lesson, leave it on the comments section of
that video lesson and I'll clear it up for you.
I appreciate each and every one of you guys.
Go subscribe if you haven't already and spread the word about Mike Gross and rockingguitarlessons.com
and my YouTube channel, which is youtube.com slash rockingguitarlessons1.
_ All right, guys.
[Ab] Peace. _
